Honestly, I recommend the hostel for those who want to get to know Scotland. It is a city that has very good connections with other popular cities and it is cheaper. It has its charm, very interesting places like everywhere in Scotland and the best thing, the locals and the staff. The tasks are very easy and relaxed, usually done in less time than agreed!

I could not have wished for a better volunteering experience, my stay at the DBH exceeded all of my expectations! I was very nervous about coming to a new city and not knowing anyone, but everyone in the hostel made me feel so welcome and at home immediately and the 4 weeks I spent here flew by way too fast. The team is amazing, the work is just as agreed upon and you get used to it very fast and there is a lot of free time to explore the hostel, spend time with the other volunteers or travelers or just relax in one of the cozy common rooms. Could not recommend more :)

This was my first volunteer experience and was of course nervous to embark on this adventure, however, within only hours of meeting the staff and team I felt incredibly comfortable as everyone took me under their wing to provide support and was so friendly. The team was so lovely and amazing, the work was as agreed, the hostel was beautiful and I'm so thankful for my experience. Would recommend this experience 😊

My stay at the DBH really exceeded my expectations astronomically !!! It was my first volunteer experience, and I couldn't have asked for a better one. Hervé, Chris and Virginie were super nice, and the whole hostel, volunteer team + Adrian, felt like a big family to me. The work was straightforward and the hours were always respected. This hostel is a magical place with a lot of history. I will always remember my time here, because it was an amazing one. I look forward to seeing you all again. Ps : Adrian makes the best pizza, and do not watch the star wars holiday special !!! - Mai Ly 😊

Mi experiencia fue increíble! El equipo del hostel está siempre atento y disponible por cualquier consulta. Las tareas están muy bien organizadas y son sencillas. El ambiente es muy bueno, todos los compañeros resultaron muy buenas personas. El hostel está muy bien ubicado por lo que se puede ir a varios lugares desde allí. Lo recomiendo 100%

I had an awesome Time in DBH ! The tasks are very easy and well explained. You have a lot of free time to enjoy the hostel and Scotland. The team is really nice, the hostel is very cosy and you feel at home really quickly. I recommend it 100%

Friendship, respect, understanding, flexibility and communication. Basic skills that Chris, Hervé and Verginie dominate very well. I had great moments with them, a lot of exchange and a lot of laughter. The work was simple, rich in details and in a team. The accommodation of the volunteers is large and with a beautiful view. I've had free time to visit a lot of cities of Scotland. I'm so grateful to have meet the DBH team and, for all the time we've shared together, I hope to see you soon, folks!

It was an amazing experience, both the volunteers and the staff are wonderful people. The work is easy, and we have a schedule to plan to visit other places. the hostel is close to Glasgow and Edinburgh, and the city has some attractions to visit. The hostel is in the center of the city, so it's really easy to get around from here, I highly recommend this volunteer, you will find amazing people and fall in love with the hostel.
