I had a truly wonderful volunteering experience at WOH. From day one, the staff made me feel instantly at ease — they are kind, supportive, and genuinely welcoming. I really enjoyed being there, not only for the work but for the connections I made with both guests and the team. I felt empowered, trusted, and encouraged to be myself. The atmosphere is warm and well organized, and the activities create a strong sense of community. I'm very grateful for the flexibility and care shown when I was sick. I truly feel like I made friends here! Highly recommended and I'd love to return again 💛

I am really grateful for the opportunity and the people I met. Dali was especially kind, and communication around arrival and stay duration was flexible. However, schedules changed mid-stay, requiring high flexibility. I worked 7 out of 8 days. Although it was around 5 hours/day, split shifts, work across two hostels, and late-night tasks made days very limited for winter exploration. Free breakfast was the same cereal, tea, and coffee available to all guests. Training would have benefited from clearer and more supportive guidance. I would have preferred staying longer with schedules upfront.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and for being part of our hostel. We’re glad to hear you appreciated the people you met and the flexibility around your arrival and stay.
Volunteering in a small hostel requires adaptability, as tasks and schedules can change depending on occupancy, season, and daily needs. During your stay, we also adjusted tasks to best match individual abilities while ensuring the hostel operations ran smoothly, which is part of managing a Hostel. Margo
