The Experience

We live in Rødby, Denmark 🇩🇰 and need a kind helper to join our little family! You’ll help with my son Vikingur, keep the house clean and organized, help with cooking and cleaning, and sometimes assist at our cozy café. Mostly, it’s about caring for Vikingur and sharing daily life with us. 💛 We live in a tourist paradise near Lalandia, Knuthenborg Safari Park, and beautiful beaches — places you can enjoy with us or on your own!

This was my first trip with Worldpackers and I'm really happy I could experience it with Solveig and Víkingur. In general, the work was not difficult and we could always work things out. Most of the time I was taking care of Víkingur and sometimes helping with the glam camping and cleaning the house. Solveig is very kind, caring and full of energy and she always wants you to feel happy and at home. Her son Víkingur is active, curious and talkative, so spending time with him is definitely easy and fun. I would recommend other volunteers to be proactive and not afraid to ask about anything.

We had a wonderful experience at the campsite! Solveig is kind and always wants to make you feel at home. Vikingur is such a sweet child. The place is truly special to take a break from the cities and get lost a little in nature. It's a big space with lots of spots to do different activities. At times the responsibilities could be a bit clearer, but with good communication everything works out very well! I was sick for a few days and Solveig helped me with medicine and let me rest. I'm very grateful for that. The other volunteers were also very kind and amazing people I will always remember!

The camping experience was lovely. Solveig is kind and positive, her child is super sweet and sociable. Tasks included gardening, cleaning, and making beds in the tents. I'd recommend being proactive and clear about work hours, since the owner can get busy. Good communication is key. Overall, a beautiful experience!♥️

I really enjoyed my time here overall. My main task was taking care of the son, which was a lot of fun as he is very curious and it was great spending time with him. The house is surrounded by beautiful nature, with lakes nearby, which I really enjoyed. Solveig is very kind and a good-hearted person, even though she is often busy and things can be a bit chaotic at times. All in all, it was a good first volunteering experience for me.

This was my first volunteering experience, and I'm so glad that I could stay with Solveig and Vikingur. I had the best time! My main task was looking after Vikingur when she had work, and I enjoyed spending time with him. I helped with some basic household tasks, but nothing extra. Sometimes I cooked meals for us. I felt really welcomed, she fulfilled all my needs, took us to the beach and safaripark which was perfect. The house needed a bit organising and cleaning, but everything else was good. I hope I'll get to see them again, because they definitely have a special place in my heart.
