The Experience
Join our local restaurant as a culinary volunteer! Learn traditional East Javanese recipes, share your own creativity in the kitchen, and feel the warmth of our community. We provide free accommodation—just a \$25/week donation for meals. Outside the kitchen, explore Bondowoso’s beauty: waterfalls, mountains, coffee plantations, and the unique local culture.

It was a very new and unusual experience for me, i'm really grateful to Taufik and Rohma for providing me with everything i needed. thank you guys for being so understanding, patient, loving, and supportive all the time, you are friends & family to me! locals are also very nice, although sometimes it was unusual to communicate only by vibe with some people, yet there are few people i will remember forever. i do recommend this experience to everyone who wants to experience something new and close to the roots, as you gonna be surrounded by beautiful nature and people:)

My experience at Lajer Pote was truly great. Taufik and the whole community welcomed me warmly and made me feel like one of them throughout my stay. We worked together in the community, where I learned about permaculture as well as local traditions. I even learned how to cook many typical dishes. I was really able to dive deep into the local culture, while also having the chance to explore many interesting places nearby. I would definitely recommend Lajer Pote to any traveler looking for a genuine connection with the local culture.
