The experience

The volunteer receptionist is the first face and the last smile each guest sees. Their mission is to ensure a warm, efficient, and organized experience at the hostel, providing key information, support with daily operations, and a relaxed atmosphere that reflects the essence of the place.


What you offer

24 hours of help per week

Night Shift: Help with night shift tasks and create a relaxing environment for guests.

Administration: Help with booking systems and payments.

Reception: Help with check-ins, check-outs and guest assistance.

Bartending: Make and serve drinks and help maintain the beverages inventory.

4 days off per week

Team Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other people.

Beginner Spanish or Intermediate English

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Program Details

Ideal volunteer profile:

Conversational English (any additional language is a plus).

Activities & Shift

Main Duties:

Check-in/Check-out: Assist with guest registration, key collection, and explanation of basic hostel rules.

Guest Relations: Answer questions, provide information on transportation, activities, tours, and local recommendations.

Internal Communication: Report any updates to the administrative or housekeeping team.

Reservation Management: Assist in confirming and updating reservations in the system (as delegated).

Social Environment: Promote good vibes in common areas, integrating travelers, and supporting community activities.

Arrive for your shift on time. Remember that reception is the heart of the hostel and cannot be left alone.

If you can't cover a shift or an emergency arises, inform the coordinator or manager immediately.

Apply the same rules that apply to guests (silence during breaks, order in common areas, etc.).

Be friendly without losing your composure when handling reservations, payments, or important information.
