The Experience

My tiny farm is more than just land — it’s a legacy passed down from my great-grandparents. I’m on a journey to bring it back to life with traditional skills, sustainable practices, and a lot of love for the earth. 💚 Here, your days can include restoring wetlands, cutting grass, planting and caring for young trees, or helping build simple eco-structures like fences or natural water systems✨

My experience at the farm is something I will always remember! From the second I arrived, I instantly felt welcomed by Brian and his two very cute dogs. He always made sure that I was well taken care of, and that I was comfortable with the tasks I was doing. Speaking of the tasks, I got to learn so many new things such as cutting wood, planting lavenders and weeding. No days looked the same, there was always something new and exciting to do. The living conditions were as described. If you are looking to get in touch with nature and try out a different lifestyle, this experience is for you!

Júlia, thank you so much. You are respectful and interactive, so any topic or goal was easy to build up. I admire how you adapted to the natural lifestyle just the very first day you left "big city life" behind. I wish life continues to treat you well!

It was at first a bit scary to be the first ones to come to the project because the living space is a cabin in the woods. The cabin was cozy and basic (as in no running water). We had three days of free time in which Bryan helped us to organise a wonderful two-day hike in the Tatra mountains. For the project in itself we did mostly weeding. We were the only volunteers at the project, which meant we missed the feeling of a worldpackers community a bit, but Bryan did his best to let us come in contact with Slovakia and the Slovakian culture.

Thank you for your feedback, indeed!
It is part of the project to be connected to nature, so I am glad you had a chance for the Chopok - Ďumbier hike.
My goal is not to create an island of volunteers; each volunteer turn has exclusivity, so I can do my best to introduce local culture and circles.
Thank you again for being the pioneers of my first project on Worldpackers.

Even though Bryan told us about the fact that the property is still very basic, my friend and I thought we would have a little bit more basics like running tap water or a shower, so please be aware of the information Bryan posted online. The land comes with a lot of work, so there are many different tasks that can be done and Bryan doesn't pressure you to da specific one but you can totally decide for yourself what you wanna work on. Besides these, the cabin and sleeping/living area are already really cute and you'll be surrounded by nature, yet still close to the town, which is practical!

Thank you for your feedback, and thank you for being my first visitors.
I think it was a two-way learning process about how the Worlpackers system works, and you did a good job of setting the basics for the next visitors.
You agreed to "primitive camping," so your note about the shower and tap water is not diplomatic. On the other hand, thank you for pointing out the freedom you had in choosing tasks and the tempo of your workload.
