Best work exchange ever. Phoebe and Jeremy are the nicest hosts and the breakfasts are always delicious. The work is fair and easy. We met so many travelers while staying here. It's the most social hostel environment I've ever experienced. All the travelers immediately become your friend. And Hualien is such a beautiful town with amazing Mountain View's and rivers to swim in.

We couldn't have asked for a better experience working at the hostel! Jeremy and Phoebe are the nicest hosts ever, and willing to help out with anything you need. The work hours are respected and it's just housekeeping each day, consisting of cleaning the floors, changing sheets, bathrooms, etc. There's so much to do in and around Hualien that makes staying here even more worth it. I would definitely recommend coming here if you enjoy nature, meeting locals, and meeting other backpackers as the hostel is very social!

It was a great pleasure and experience volunteering with Phoebe and Jeremy! They are great! My task was to cook breakfast for the guests and it was very fun! I met a lot of nice people and chill around Hualien. The place and the city are amazing. Cycling around it was very good. Thank you all for everything, I'm looking forward to comeback to Hualien again (:

Felt like a holiday with overseas relatives! Phoebe & Jeremy were such kind hosts ☺️🥺 I planned 10 days in the hostel, 2 in Taipei, but spent the 2 days at the hostel instead coz I didn't wanna leave. Housekeeping was light (11–1), tasks were clear. Bikes provided – great for exploring before and after shift. Hualien is a quiet countryside city surrounded by nature, with lots of summer activities. I had the nicest time with my co-volunteers, too. The place gave me a real sense of belonging. While P&J were away, Artrick & Anku toured me and introduced me to their friends. Wish I had more time! 💛

Phoebe and Jeremy are incredible hosts! They're very welcoming, generous, and kind. I stayed for 18 days and wish I could've stayed longer. The hostel is comfortable and the work is easy. There are lots of tours you can do on days off, or just explore on your own. Hualien is a good balance of city and countryside, with restaurants and live music at the night market on the one hand, and easy access to quiet nature on the other. Taroko national park is beautiful to scooter through, even after the earthquake. It's definitely worth it to come here!
