Dream like Experience! This was my first time volunteering at a hostel from Worldpackers and wow this hostel was absolutely the most beautiful , most boutique , most clean hostel ive ever seen or stayed at. nothing but warm vibes and possibly the most immersive dutch experience you could never have thought you could have just staying at a hostel. Such impressive attention to detail. being new, i was also impressed with how everything was managed: how even if there were any issues that arose they were swiftly solved with no drama no sweat no tears. Great staff everyone was awesome to b with!

My stay at the hostel was truly one of the greatest experiences. The team was so nice and inclusive. The hostel is an amazing place to meet travelers from other places in the world. I became closer with my fellow volunteers than expected and really felt like I got a sort of second home in a short amount of time. The work was totally fine and there was room for flexibility if needed. My month flew by and i wish i could've stayed for longer. I would certainly recommend the hostel if you wish to connect with other travelers/locals and explore the Netherlands! 🧡

I loved my time spent at the hostel! I've met so many amazing people, made great memories, and created lasting friendships through the volunteers and staff. The hostel is very cozy to hang out in and the location is perfect to get to Amsterdam and other surrounding cities. Haarlem is a more quiet town, but perfect to live in. The work was easy and the hours were respected. Tim is great at communication, willing to make accommodations in the schedule, and the BEST host in general. He makes me laugh all the time :) the hostel really going to miss the daily dinners with everyone! Thank you!

It was my first experience and I am very happy and grateful for it. I enjoyed the reception staff, the volunteer group, the city. I made life long friendships and learned many new tasks. The first month, although I had more free time than now that the high season has started, there was some disorganization which was resolved in April. Thank you Kay, Twan, Robin, Simon, Evy, Tim for your kindness and patience, especially for my beginning English! 😂 I hope to see you again soon ✨

My time here was mostly amazing! I made life long friendships. Grateful for Kaj and Tim who took care of us, moving shifts about when we couldn't work. April was a lot of fun!! March was messy we were told when we arrived a lot of staff were leaving their jobs. The owner wasn't the nicest and I recommend hiring more staff just as my volunteer group were working a lot. We have spoke to Tim and he has sorted it. I stayed for longer than I was supposed as I made incredible friends!

Thanks Phoebe! You are the best! It was so great to have you part of the Hello Im Local team! You will be missed, but just come visit us again in the summer?

Thanks for your feedback for the month of March. Yes it was a hectic month with staff leaving and new staff onboarding. Thanks for covering the House Keeping shifts. Thanks to you everything went very well!

The hostel truly so glad that the hostel was my first solo traveling and volunteering experience! the hostel also very happy that it wasn't "solo" after all :) the hostel so thankful for everyone on the team for making me feel at home in the last 2 months, even when sharing a room with a bunch of strangers for the first time. i will certainly never forget this <3 thank you for always having my back, and for all the memories and stories that i will forever keep and get to share with everyone here at my (original) home. i truly hope we don't get to be strangers again! doei doei <3

I had a really nice time at the hostel! I met a lot of amazing people who i now can call my friends :) the staff also really wants you to have a great time <3 I would really recommend this as your first hostel you volunteer at, since this was the case with me. The city Haarlem is a bit quieter so don't expect wild nights of going out. It's an advantage tho since you can choose for a quieter night in or go out of town to somewhere busier :) All in all, i really loved my stay here <3

What an amazing experience! I truly loved every minute of this opportunity. The hostel was very nice, hours were manageable, and the staff was SO welcoming. You become like a small family at the end, makes it so hard to leave. I came in the low season and actually enjoyed it being a bit more quiet, allows more connectivity. Would recommend this to anyone. Thank you Kaj & Tim for this opportunity ❤️

I had a really nice time at the hostel. The staff is truly special, and interacting with them easily became one of my favourite parts of the day. The work is fair and flexible, giving you enough time to explore Haarlem and the surroundings. The hostel really knows how to foster a welcoming and kind community. I would highly recommend the experience!
