The Experience

In Malawi, mental health is still a topic that’s often misunderstood or left unspoken. Many people face anxiety, depression, or trauma, yet few have access to the support or education they need. This is where you come in. We’re a small community-based organization working to break the stigma, raise awareness, and provide support for mental wellbeing especially among young people, women, and rural families.

Great experience for anyone interested in NGO work on women and youth empowerment. I worked on a women's economic project where we gave soft loans and trained 10 women in small business skills. I also met 3 volunteers from Canada working at a kindergarten. On weekends, we explored Malawi's culture, visiting places like Mushroom Farm and Lake Malawi. A perfect mix of impact and adventure!

I had the chance to volunteer at St. John's Hospital in Mzuzu with 8 of my friends from college, and it was an amazing experience. From the start, everything was well organized. David helped us with all the preparations and even welcomed us at the airport. He's such a kind and thoughtful host we felt really well taken care of, with clean, comfortable accommodation and great meals. If you're thinking about doing a medical internship, this is a fantastic opportunity in Malawi. On weekends, David planned some awesome trips for us we got to visit Nkhata Bay and explore Nyika National Park. S
