We've run into serious issues. When we arrived, we weren't able to stay in the designated volunteer space, and a third party, unrelated to the host or us, aggressively yelled at us and slammed the door. The next day, we moved into the apartment, which had a piogeon excrement in the kitchen, cockroaches, no WiFi (which forced us to use expensive roaming), no air conditioned, and overall poor conditions. The volunteer house wasn't livable. Other volunteers told me the working conditions were bad as well, the host made volunteers work after designated hours, and were rude towards them

There is far too much to say about this exchange that I loved and so little space. But this experience was incredible. Santa Marta has become a second home because of the people atthe hotel. The exchange was flexible and allowed me to create a schedule that worked and to be creative. The hours were agreed on and so were the tasks. It was a great opportunity and without a second thought I would come back or stay longer if I could. HIGHLY recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Cómo podría describir mi primera experiencia como voluntaria ? Maravillosa!!
