The Experience

We are a registered charity, housed in a beautiful English medieval manor with an ancient courtyard and a magnificent timbered Great Hall, dating from the 13th century. It is situated in extensive grounds where deer roam freely and where squirrels run up and down trees. Over the past 40 years the charity has run a range of group activities including retreats and other spiritual events, lectures, concerts, yoga classes, creative workshops, etc.

Having lived in this lovely the Center with 800 years of history, sharing it with people from all over the world, is something that will remain etched in my heart for the rest of my days. The place is comfortable, amazing food, the facilities makes you feel at home, you have plenty of space if you want to work remotely or just relax and read a book in an ancient library. About the team: Thanks you Pascaline for being like a mom for me, and congratulations for everything you've done to boost this place. Thanks to all my mates for making this experience unforgettable. YOU MUST DO THIS EXPERIENCE.

I'm grateful for this experience. The place is beautiful and peaceful, surrounded by nature. It's a great opportunity to connect with international volunteers - I had lovely moments and enriching conversations. The food is fantastic, truly nourishing. Tasks involved cleaning and general maintenance - simple but fair. Although I had to leave earlier than planned for personal reasons, I'm really glad I came. I recommend it to anyone looking to slow down, meet kind people from around the world, and enjoy a peaceful environment. Thanks for everything 🙏

What a wonderful time I had volunteering again at the Center. I spent summer days surrounded by nature, eating organic salads and vegetables grown in the greenhouse. I was part of the team that cooked for the retreats and the Cafe. At the Center, each week is different from the last one and this result in new experiences and learning. Pascalina, the manager, provided us with moments of fellowship and happiness, such as the Vegetarian Barbecue Day. Having spent time with some nice volunteers, such Sasha and Yohan, made the experience even more incredible.

The Abby is simply magical. This month flew by! Pascaline was always kind and attentive, and the delicious food she prepared with Vitoria was definitely a highlight. I learned a lot about gardening with Oksana, such a special person connected to nature. The tasks are easy, you have plenty of free time to explore the beautiful surroundings, also I have good time with people like Yohan, Gloria, and Santiago. And honestly… for a city boy in the countryside, I've never felt so at home :)
