The Experience

We are a registered charity, housed in a beautiful English medieval manor with an ancient courtyard and a magnificent timbered Great Hall, dating from the 13th century. It is situated in extensive grounds where deer roam freely and where squirrels run up and down trees. Over the past 40 years the charity has run a range of group activities including retreats and other spiritual events, lectures, concerts, yoga classes, creative workshops, etc.

I had a fantastic experience at the Center! The team was very kind and welcoming. The work is very straightforward with a clear schedule. The work was very light on some days, and on days when work was heavier, management ensured we weren't working more than our allotted hours. It's a wonderful environment, the building is gorgeous and the grounds are beautiful. the Center is also very close to major cities like London, Bath, and Oxford, and all are a short bus/train ride away. We also got to meet people from the Center through the cafe and town festivals. I highly recommend the Center! ❤️

My experience at the Center was incredibly enriching. I met wonderful people, and the daily tasks were easy to carry out. If you're looking for a place to disconnect, I highly recommend not missing this opportunity. The manager, Pascaline, is extremely kind and was always attentive to making sure our stay was the best it could be. Without a doubt, I would love to return.

I'm super thankful for my time at the Center! It's the perfect place to volunteer, get close to nature, connect with the community, and hang out with travelers from all over the world. Pascaline is such a kind and caring person — she really made sure we were comfortable and felt right at home. You get two days off to explore places like Bath, Oxford, London, and nearby areas. The work is easy, and one of the best parts is helping out at the Center Café every Saturday. I totally recommend this experience — it was amazing!

I am delighted to have returned to the Center. The place is stunning in the spring with the colourful flowers. It was great cooking vegetarian and vegan dishes, pies and cakes for the volunteers and retreat guests, together with Pascoaline, the manager of the Center, who is a very welcoming person. Socialising with the locals during the events or on Saturdays in the Café were also great things about my volunteering, as was the easy access to Didcot Parkway train station, with trains to many places to explore. the Center is definitely a place to return to.

I loved helping out in this incredible place full of history. Everything was great. The city is beautiful and you can visit several places within easy reach. Pascaline is a amazing manager and was always willing to show you how to do the tasks. I recommend this place to everyone. See you soon 😁
