The Experience

We are looking for a hard working traveler that wants to help out and learn while practicing permaculture on our farm. We are an eco-lodge located on a 21 hectare jungle property with a cacao and permaculture farm that we use to provide a farm-to-table dining experience for our guests. You will work under and alongside our farm manager Sergio, who speaks English and Spanish. You will have a bed in our rustic cabin and meals from our kitchen

My experience at the lodge was truly wonderful. It's the perfect place to connect with nature, from peaceful yoga sessions to kayaking through the beautiful surroundings. On your free days, you can even join the guests on different excursions, which makes the experience even more special. You also get the chance to connect with the local community and learn a bit about their culture. Everyone at the lodge was incredibly welcoming and made this volunteer experience unique and unforgettable. I genuinely recolmend this volunteer opportunity to anyone looking for a meaningful and beautiful experience

The place is beautiful, surrounded by nature, and the people are very lovely, the experience was very good. But keep in mind that it's a very remote area, and going to town or the beach isn't always easy, so there's not much to do in your free time. Also, the positions described are a bit different, I applied for reception, but they don't actually have that position there, so I worked in other position. So make sure to ask beforehand to avoid any surprises when you arrive.

My experience at the lodge was a bit unexpected but I made the most of the experience & pleasant to guests. I found the host lacking in basic communication at times. The biggest issue for me was a constant lack of food, and the meal times that were often late into the day (10am, 2pm, 10pm) after the guests ate. I found it difficult to feel satiated with the proportions given and often asked for more, sometimes given more and often times not. The other major barrier for me was a lack of a designated workspace. Also, I didn't get the training manual to ensure expectations aligned until the end.

I enjoyed my month volunteering here. My cabin was private and rustic, and meals were healthy, organic, and prepared by a kind kitchen team. The 'reception' role mostly involved serving food and washing glasses, but the tasks were easy and I often worked fewer hours than expected or could skip shifts for tours or errands. Nico and Aaron were very supportive, and the experience is great for anyone who enjoys nature and a remote setting.
