I absolutely loved my 3 weeks experience at the community ! I met amazing people (volunteers and staff) and had so much fun doing the tours and workshops with the kids. Everyone from the staff is fun and open minded. I felt like at home and ended up staying one more week. It was nice being engaged in a sustainable project and learn about textile upcycling. And of course the cooking classes, especially for the eating part ahah.

My first volunteer experience, in Klang, Malaysia, changed me forever (Do you know that we need 10k liters of water to make only 1 pants jeans? Yeahhh!). At the community, I rediscovered myself, stepped out of my comfort zone, and learned through every challenge and connection. Volunteering isn't just about giving your time — it's about growing, sharing, and carrying a piece of each place and person with you. Thank you, the community, for being part of my journey. ❤️

I had a wonderful time at the community. The work was clear, well-organized, and we had plenty of free time. I learned a lot, especially about textile recovery and Malaysian culture. Joe and the community team were lovely and welcoming, and the volunteers were great. We had cooking and language classes, ate local food together, and I got to join different events, such as school factory tour, visiting a disability center, and even fashion shows. The apartment was modern and comfortable, and we even had a car to explore. It's just a bit far from KL, though. It exceeded my expectations, I highly recommend it.
