The experience

As a volunteer, you will:

What you offer

30 hours of help per week

Social Work: Help with volunteer work in local projects and communities.


What you get

2 days off per week

Team Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other people.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Program Details

Discover the unseen side of sustainability! Join us for an immersive, educational journey into the textile recovery process — right here at Malaysia’s largest textile recovery facility. From practical hands-on experiences to local community engagement!

WHAT WE OFFER:

🏠 Comfortable Accommodation
Stay in a cozy, well-equipped space with all the essentials and meals provided.

💡 Hands-on Experience
Gain valuable experience in project management, sustainability, and community outreach while making a real difference.

🍝 Meals
We provide breakfast, lunch & dinner and Nora will cook for you on weekdays. You are required to prepare your own food on the weekend.

🚘 Access to a Car
An international driver’s license is required and the car is shared among volunteers.

Important note: The factory tour is not going to happen everyday. We will make sure your week will fill with some other activities i.e. Cooking class, Language lesson


Activities & Shift

ROLES DETAILS:

Outreach & Advocacy: Actively engage with local communities, schools, and organizations to spread the word about textile recovery, offering solutions and inspiring action for a more sustainable future.

Leading Workshops: Help organize and facilitate hands-on workshops, where you'll engage students with fun, educational activities that raise awareness about textile pollution and recovery.

Factory Tours: Assist the factory tours to show participants the process of textile recovery, giving them a deeper understanding of the industry and its impact on the environment.

Research & Impact: Dive into the surveys we collect from the tour to better understand the challenges in textile recovery, and collaborate with the team to come up with fresh ideas and strategies to improve the project.

Daily routine - from Monday to Friday:

8-9am: ☕ Breakfast
9-1pm: 💻 Volunteer Hour
1-2pm: 🍝 Lunch break
2-4pm: 💻 Volunteer Hour
6pm onwards: 🍝 Dinner

We expect you to give a full cooperation of 30 hours per week.

The area isn’t very walkable, but we provide indoor cycling equipment and a yoga mat so you can stay active and exercise comfortably on-site.

** Use our car (fuel and tolls included) to explore the area and run project activities. Please note: an international driver’s license is required and the car is shared among volunteers.
