The Experience

My wife (Kylie) and I (Richard) are looking for our next guests/helpers to assist us with the day-to-day running of our home, but mainly helping with repair and maintenance work on our organic dairy farm located near the township of Waihi with several beaches close by, the closest being less than 10 minutes away which is an awesome surfing beach although we don’t surf ourselves.

Richard and Kylie were very welcoming and made me feel at home! I got to go to a couple town markets with them plus a dairy farmer get together to see another farm. You have lots of time to explore or do little day trips, plus they have lots of good recommendations in the area! The baby cows are really cute and all the cows got names! Beautiful piece of country land. Richard and Kylie know a ton about cows and are very good at explaining on what they do on the farm. Got to do some gardening too!

I really enjoy this experience! the farm is amazing, the caws, the calves and Bernie (the dog) are beautiful/cute/funny, and Kylie and Richard are great hosts! They welcomed me as if I was at home, even invited me to spend some family time along with their children and took me to incredible spots! I wish I could have helped them more around the farm, because I had plenty of time off, but I cannot complain since I really had the chance to relax and enjoy the beautiful landscape. Kylie and Richard da remarkable job for the dairy industry! Loved their happy cows 🤗

Kylie, Richard, and the cows were “sweet as!” Their passion and love for their animals is incredibly inspiring. I worked about 2-4 hours/day with work responsibilities typically comprising of feeding milk to calfs and had a lot of downtime the rest of the day! Even though the work was pretty minimal, I learned so much about the ins & outs of the dairy industry. They even took me on little sightseeing trips to see beautiful local spots, like the Gorge and Waihi Beach. The whole family is awesome to hangout with and they're more than happy to teach you about their vast knowledge of New Zealand!
