This was definitely one of the greatest experiences I have had on my trip! I had an amazing time with the volunteers, as well as Kenta and his family and the kids in the school <3 The working times were very flexible and short and it made a LOT of fun to work there! We had a lot of free time and were able to go to surrounding areas, to hike, see Mount Fuji and go swimming at a waterfall. We also did a traditional tea ceremony together and I just made a LOT of new friends over the 3 weeks I have stayed here.

I absolutely loved my home stay with Kenta and Natsuki. They were so welcoming and kind! They also encouraged cultural exchange through conversations, food, and activities. The teaching was also enjoyable and straightforward, and you always taught alongside other teachers so you weren't on your own. My only “concern” was the lack of communication about the job responsibilities, but thankfully they are very simple and straightforward so after a day or two I was able to easily adjust. Otherwise, I wish I could've stayed longer!

Volunteering at Tsuru School was exactly as described , light and flexible hours, a chill environment, and lots of space to express yourself. Teaching English or practicing calligraphy with the kids felt rewarding, and sharing the experience with other volunteers made it even more enjoyable. Kenta, the host, is super friendly, down-to-earth, and knows how to make volunteers feel at home. Having traveled a lot, he totally gets it. The whole vibe is warm and relaxed, perfect if you're looking for a meaningful, low-pressure way to experience life in a peaceful Japanese town

When I first arrived Kenta welcomed me with open arms. He invited me to his home knowing very little about me. I felt like I was welcome, that's because I was. Teaching English was very easy as I am fluent in English . It was a very pleasant experience to teach and meet people from around the world. This was my first time volunteering and it was an incredible experience for it being my first . The workload is good and the accommodation was very comfy. Tsuru has many local restaurants that are very friendly and the food is incredible. This place is the embodiment of local Japan.

Our time in Tsuru was quite amazing, Kenta and his family are such incredible people. I would highly recommend helping out at the language school if you get the chance. Our time helping the kids at the language school was extremely amazing and I will definitely remember it. Massive thank you to Kenta / his family and everyone at the Study Garden
