The Experience

Join us in cultivating, harvesting, and maintaining an agricultural area where we are transforming monoculture into biodiversity using syntropic farming as our core technique, along with other agroecological concepts. We have been welcoming Erasmus students since 2022 and are now open to volunteers. If you will stay up to 3 weeks, expect a shared dorm with 4 beds =)

I had an absolutely wonderful time in the farm. Five weeks flew super fast, and I wish I could stay longer. We had a lot of different and interesting tasks. Fernando always explains everything really well, and every day I would learn something new. I was very happy to help this sustainable project, and I wish Fernando a great success! He is a very sweet person, and a really good host. On his farm I felt like home.

I had a truly lovely time at the farm! Whether you're curious about syntropic farming or passionate about sustainable agriculture, this is the place to be. I arrived with little knowledge and left much more informed and even more interested. There are plenty of different tasks to get involved in, and Fernando is both flexible and accommodating. There are lots of wonderful places nearby to explore on your free days (we did a lovely hike in Arrabida National Park). I loved being so close to nature—I even extended my stay. Highly recommended!

For me was amazing, learn teory and practice about agroflorest practices. Fernando is an amazing teacher, a great story teller, and good friend to have in life. As a host he is always open to talk about what need to be improved about the house conditions, the bedrooms are containairs with good conditions and the kitchen has everything we need, and he provide us food as we ask, from the supermarket availability every once in week. We had amazing lunchs together and work some days as a team achiving an especific goal for the day and a lot of self-management work tasks, I want to come back for

My stay at the farm was awesome. Fernando is a great host, he has great knowledge and experience about permacultural farm and agro-foresty and he is so patient. You can ask the same thing and he will show you again. Rooms and kitchen was good too(just know that toilet is a dry toilet). Only problem is that it can be a bit boring and hard if you don't like being alone(max 3 other volenteers). Because there are nothing near to the farm and nearest big city is Setubal(you need to take a bus or ride a bike for a long time). Except for that farm is chill and I liked the experience.

Our experience with Fernando at the farm was incredible. Fernando is passionate about plants, nature and farming . He is very patient when it comes to teaching and explaining the processes, and his farm is a great learning experience. There wans't enough time to continue learning, but it's definitely a place we recommend.
