The Experience

I had a positive experience at the farm! Fernando was very prepared to receive me and the other new volunteers, and I appreciated how communicative and welcoming he was upon our arrival. He is very flexible with the work schedule, allowing you to divide your 30 hours across the week however you'd like to. He is also very receptive to any feedback from the volunteers and willing to do whatever is necessary to make them more comfortable at the farm. If we needed something, he was sure to make a trip to the store to get it for us. My biggest tip, though: bring mosquito repellent!!

I had a good time with Fernando and the other volunteers. It was my first time working with the land in a system like this and he made it feel easy by explaining everything and letting us try, I gained confidence working with some tools I never had used before. The accommodation was okay, rooms are nice, the common area is open so it's like nature (can be a little messy) but enjoyable any ways. I enjoyed learning, being in nature and witnessing how plants are grown :)

I enjoyed my stay at the farm. Fernando is a very good host and takes great care of all the volunteers. He knows a lot about this specific type of farming, and it's interesting to help him grow his project. The tasks depend on the season, so some of them could be a bit boring, but it's also valuable to experience this side of agriculture. It was my first volunteering experience, and I would recommend this place because I met nice people, enjoyed the environment, and spent my free days at the beach near Palmela!

The experience was very good and enriching! I arrived for two weeks, but decided to extend my stay and ended up staying for a month. The place is beautiful, peaceful, and surrounded by nature, ideal for a first approach to syntropic agriculture. I learned a lot about crop maintenance, soil nourishment, and plant care. Fernando is very clear with the tasks and creates a very pleasant work environment. Without a doubt, an experience I would recommend to anyone who wants to learn and connect with nature. I would definitely go back again!

This was our first Worldpackers experience and we loved it! We planned to stay two weeks but ended up staying a month. The host explained the tasks and let us choose what suited us. We set our own work routine, and the weekly hours weren't strictly supervised—it was based on trust with the host. The place is in a natural environment, close to Lisbon and Setúbal, with comfortable common areas, great for socializing or having personal space. There's good WiFi. Fernando gave us a private room and plenty of food we could cook freely. We learned a lot about syntropic farming and highly recommend it
