The Experience

One part of the project involves caring for an old olive garden of about 300 trees. We need help mowing, mulching, harvesting (end of october) and helping with the pruning process (after harvest, in december). Another part involves reforestation of some wild land, which basically means planting small oak trees and others. The third part of the project is a botanical medicinal garden that I've only just started and a small vegetable garden.

This was my first volunteer experience as for them too. Katharina and her husband are really nice people. They taken us unique places, we eat healthy food and I could spend lot of time in nature as was my goal. I also met with other travellers so I could practice my language skills. The work was flexible and not that hard. Was great experience for the first time and maybe I will visit in the future as well:)

This Experience was a great way to get in touch with nature in such a beautiful location of Sicily. I couldn't get enough of the landscape. There were many opportunities to visit gorgeous local areas and enjoy the scenery. The hours of work were flexible and allowed for lots of free time to explore the area or simply relax. The whole family were lovely and welcoming, really made you feel at home. I would recommend this experience for anyone who wants more of a local experience to sicily as well as really getting in touch with nature.
