After our second time here, Cameron Highlands feels like a home away from home. Everyone you meet is lovely and becoming a regular at places is an amazing feeling. The work is as agreed but very laid back most of the time, you might even get to share family meals and play some badminton together. You won't regret volunteering here and will be sad when you have to go. Thank you 🥹

I loved it so much that I had to come back! I got to bond with a lot more of the locals this time, as there were fewer volunteers with us for the majority of our stay. Celebrating my 21st birthday here was one of the best things I've ever done, and I feel as if I've found a family away from home. For future volunteers - just apply, you won't regret it! The night shift is busiest, but the best in my opinion, as you can da lot more with the day - just ask a fellow volunteer to grab you dinner when they head out :)

Volunteering at the hostel was my first time, and it was incredible! The vibe was super chill and welcoming. Mani, the owner, is fun and easy-going, which made everything more enjoyable. I helped at reception and in return, I got to meet so many beautiful people from around the world, learn new card games, and play volleyball and badminton together. It truly felt like a little family in the middle of the Cameron Highlands. Highly recommend it if you're looking for a fun and social volunteer experience!

We had such a fun time volunteering with mani. The work was easy and chill and he was flexible in the days we got off. At night we played badminton and volleyball with the locals and played cards every day. Mani is very funny and friendly, you will be sure to have a good time volunteering with him

Had a really great time at the hostel, work is easy, just have to do check-ins and scooter rentals. The host Mani is super funny, kind, understanding, and always willing to help or answer any of your questions. When you're not working Mani will often invite you to play cards, badminton or volleyball, so you never get bored and you can meet other people. Would love to come back here if the opportunity arises in the future.

A home away from home is a perfect way to describe how I felt volunteering for Mani. The work was easygoing and not stressful most of the time, though during public holidays more guests without English ability visit, so have a translator app ready! Schedules were flexible to accommodate trips and treks through the Cameron Highlands, which is a beautiful place. There were many opportunities to get to know those around me, but I never felt pressured to do anything. A small warning for those looking to work & travel here - internet access is basic, if your demand is higher, consider local SIMs.

We really enjoyed our stay in the Cameron highlands with Mani and our fellow volunteers. The work is easy going, hours as advertised helping with reception and organising scooter rentals. Most of the time there is someone around that can help if you get stuck or just a phone call away. This is a lovely place to relax, do some hiking or spend time with some amazing people learning more card games than you can comprehend, becoming friends with the cats and having the occasional water fight. Would recommend to everyone needing a break from scorching heat and needing some genuine interactions

Mani was a great host, he makes sure things are provided for while being upbeat and warm, and he's great to play card games with. The hostel has a great atmosphere and I met lots of amazing people while I was there. The work was relaxed and social. It's also a good opportunity to explore the Cameron Highlands, there are plenty of beautiful hiking trails around that I was able to explore before or after my shifts.
