The Experience

In order to collaborate toward further-curating a peaceful space of wilderness fit for the strived-for comfort and outdoor exploration for international veterans, lots of help is needed preparing the land of the property itself (such as cutting trees, hauling wood from trees, leveling ground, building), as well as with research into veteran organizations and getting in contact with them for possible stays at Zomerrust, care of the home, and chick

Rob is kind and hospitable and shared many of his life experiences. the farm was a great place to be and I enjoyed myself during the two weeks stay here. It was so beautiful in autumn, and quiet and peaceful at night. You will have a great time if you love being in nature and enjoy working with your hands. There's many cute dogs and cats too! 🙂

Loved my stay at Zommerrust! The tasks were easy and spread out through the day with nice long breaks, so it never felt tiring. There are so many sweet dogs and cats, that make the whole experience even better! The other volunteers and Rob were super nice and fun to talk to. If you're looking for a chill place to connect with nature, animals, and good people, this spot is perfect. Definitely recommend!

I had a great time volunteering with Rob at Zommerrust. The work varied from day to day but included gardening, raking leaves, painting, cleaning, rearranging wood planks etc. The land was beautiful and the dogs and cats were a highlight of the stay. I would definitely recommend this project for anyone who likes spending time in nature!
