The Experience

Our project has entered the final stages of becoming a sustainable, low-carbon educational and creative hub: located in the heart of the regional parc “Le Morvan” In March 2022, the site was acquired, with the ambition of creating an Eco-Parc with minimal carbon footprint and waste production. A centre for education and learning, for individuals, families, and businesses, it includes a café, permaculture garden, managed forest and workshops.

It was an amazing experience and I learned a lot from people working in the project. I'm inspired by them and the actions that they are taking and everybody is very passionate about it, which is great. I'm very grateful for the opportunity of being there, I will never forget this experience.

Wow - what a team! I feel lucky to have been a part of this project, and have learnt so much! The work is diverse and we helped with everything from managing the woodlands, to helping with the fruit/veg/fungi gardens, and even supporting restoration of a historic local cafe. Graham has built a community of highly skilled and friendly locals who are eager to share their knowledge with volunteers. The dorms are super comfortable with comfy beds, great showers and even a kitchen. However, we chose to eat together every night which was a delight. Thanks again to everyone at the community!!!

This is an amazing project working on creating a sustainable space for socializing, sharing knowledge and working. The work was varied and interesting, from building a path in a forest to helping clear an old chateau. This was our first volunteer program and was better than expected. All of the team are lovely and we really learnt a lot from them

The community is an amazing project with many ideas for both environmental awareness and cultural exchange. In my time there I learn that our environment is a complex communication system that has to be treated with care. And the process to create a new place can be a hard challenge, but if you work with people who have interest in common, and are open to teach you it becomes way easier and the work doesn't seem too hard. The activities were different every day and they were always concerned to make it fun and interesting for everyone. Thanks to the whole team, I hope to see you again!

It was my first volunteering experience, and also theirs, so at the beggining we were all figuring out how to make it work but fortunately, as the days passed by we were all a big team bonded by kindness and goodwill. The tasks were very diverse: feeding chickens, creating a path in the forest, moving pottery, learning about gardening, creating posters, taking pictures or just proposing anything valuable based on your experience. What I appreciate most about the experience is how it oppened my heart to connect with others and to truly experience the meaning of kindness. It was life-changing!
