The Experience

Our little hostel village in the middle of the forest is a magical place to stay and help out for a while. Worldpackers are on a rotating schedule with various tasks: - Taking care of the dishes in our café and giving an extra kitchen hand - Helping our cleaning staff with daily cleaning and taking care of trash and recycling - Gardening - Red house painting - General maintenance - Cultural heritage techniques such as scything

I've had a truly amazing time at the hostel from day one. Anna and Anders are very welcoming hosts who always go above and beyond to make sure you feel comfortable with everything- from the delicious food to flexible shift times and work tasks. Every task is well explained from the beginning and they are always happy to answer any questions, big or small. The location itself is magical- you feel like you step out of time into a fairytale forest. There's also plenty to do for nature lovers with countless hikes and lakes to explore. Definitely keen to come back next summer!

Anna and Anders are wonderful hosts, they really do look after you and you can trust them 100% the hostel is rather well ran, with enough energy and positivity to keep you going throughout. But also enough flexibility to listen to what tasks you prefer and communication to have open conversations about any issues that may arise. Not that I found any! Honestly this place magical and I would recommend it to all travellers

I had an amazing time volunteering at the hostel I'm so grateful for the opportunity! From the very beginning, I felt welcomed and appreciated. The environment was peaceful, inspiring, and full of good energy. During my stay, I had the chance to help in the kitchen, do some painting job (which was fun) and gardening work also. I feel lucky to be here during the special occasion Moon Fest with nice music and joyful moments. Thank you so much Anders and Anna for your kindness and hospitality. I truly hope to return someday!

The hostel is truly a magical and special place. Anna and Anders and all of the other Swedish workers truly care about the volunteers and made a lot of effort to get to know us and make sure we were happy and well taken care of. The work hours are always respected, the work itself is chill, not stressful at all. The food is SCRUMPTIOUS, so many delicious meals thanks to the amazing and caring chefs. I had so many perfect days here: taking beautiful hikes, board game nights with the other volunteers, playing with Anna and Anders' son, and trips to lakes. 10/10 I will be back :D

Anna, Anders & Tore's place is perfect if you want to get close to nature and meet travelers from all over the world. The tasks are simple and clear: mostly washing dishes with a machine and cleaning rooms and shared areas, so nothing too stressful. They make you feel really welcome and the whole crew treats you with respect and kindness. This is definitely not a party place, but you can organise nice activities with the other volunteers. I had such a great time staying with them and I totally recommend their beautiful hostel if you want a chill, friendly vibe and an easygoing experience.
