The Experience

I’m working on expanding the little off the grid house, building a bathroom & kitchen with a rocketstove and making the house into a living house of different trees in the spirit of The Living Village. Maintaining the food forest around it, growing a lot of different species (including mushrooms), weaving trees into art sculptures into art sculptures, nursing young trees and ofcourse taking care of daily live. https://wwoof.nl/en/host/10129

This is the perfect place for anyone who wants to learn about sustainability and permaculture. Bouwie will welcome you into his home with open arms, and do everything possible to make you comfortable. During my two weeks here I got to develop my green thumb and live the community and completely immersed in nature. The living village community is wonderful, and everyone in the forest was so nice. I got to exist in their community and help out around the project and coexist with nature. Thank you Bouwie and everyone else in the village for a wonderful experience!

Hello. I must confess I was hesitant about starting my volunteer program with Bouwie since he didn't have many reviews. However, I must say it was the best decision for my first volunteer experience. Simply put, Bouwie is someone you'll love from start to finish. He's always attentive from your arrival to your last day. The place is wonderful, as you'll be in the forest surrounded by very kind and warm people. You'll have plenty of opportunities to relax, and if you like to meditate, what better place than this. Bouwie cooks exquisite dishes, and you'll never go hungry, believe me

Hi there! Talking about Bouwie 🤔 He's a kind and wise man who always treats you like an equal. You know he is the host, but he is always there to teach you and explain (sometimes more than 3 times 🫠) the things you should do. I've stayed there for 3 weeks, and the time went by so fast. I learned a lot, and I have only just started to assimilate. Being part of Bouwie's project means being part of a beautiful community where everyone helps each other. It's really nice to have this kind of experience, so I recommend it to anyone who wants to learn and help be part of this beautiful project.

Bouwie is a wonderful host and made me feel very welcomed and comfortable. The Forrest is such a beautiful place and what Bouwie and the community are doing with sustainable the community living is awesome and I got to learn so much in my short time there. I only did 1 week but I would recommend 2 weeks. I couldn't recommend this program more for anyone who loves nature and trying new things!
