The Experience

We are a large animal rescue and host up to 16 volunteers at a time. We need help with keeping the house clean and cosy. Tasks will involve cleaning the house, cupboards etc, making beds, cleaning dog beds and if you are able helping to make a vegetarian or vegan lunch for everyone. We have 300 animals at the farm so you will be able to interact with them also. We have dogs living in the house so cleaning up after them will be required.

Thank you so much for this great experience! I had such a good time on the farm, and looking back I truly believe it was the perfect place for me to improve both my English and social skills. This was my first ever Worldpackers/international volunteering experience and I loved loved loved it! The work that is done at the shelter is so important and so fulfilling, I truly loved every day. The work is not hard and you usually have different tasks to do every day so it never gets boring. I met some amazing people here in my short 3-week stay, and I would definitely encourage anyone to volunteer here if you want to work with animals. Thank you for having me team!

It has been a great experience! Although the five hours of work with the animals is quite hard, it is a very rewarding job. The atmosphere with the other volunteers was great and allowed me to learn about other cultures. One negative aspect was that there were about 15 of us volunteers and only one bathroom with a shower. After our work hours, we had to wait for our turn. Otherwise, it was great. :)

My experience at MLHR was absolutely AMAZING! 💖 The people working at the farm are lovely, they made me feel at home since the moment I arrived. I made lots of friends from all over the world, and I enjoyed the work very much! It's true that it is hard work, but I find that you adapt very quickly. I also learned a lot, and I truly felt like I was contributing to something meaningful and important. Being able to connect with the animals in such a way is magical and unforgettable. They are so charming and fun. 🥰 I already miss the farm, and I'm definitely coming back in the future! 🐴
