The Experience

Are you passionate about animal welfare and looking to make a real impact? Muttlands Dog Sanctuary in Rayong is looking for a Volunteer Leader to join us for a minimum 2-month stay, helping care for our beloved rescue dogs and lead our dedicated volunteer team. Supervisor or management experience required for this role.

This was my second time at the shelter, and somehow it was even more special than the first. It's still the most heartwarming thing I've done while traveling—you can't help but fall in love with every single dog. This time I also got to help and support an amazing group of volunteers who truly care. the shelter has left a piece of itself with me. If you love dogs and want to make a real difference, you cannot miss this experience. Jazmine, the founder, is incredible and has worked tirelessly to help thousands of dogs through the shelter and VetVan. I'm incredibly grateful to her for everything.

Volunteering at the shelter really is an enriching experience🤩You're tasked with socialising with the dogs, walking + some minor cleaning. The dogs are so sweet and really appreciate all the time + energy from the shelter team. I'd defo recommend to anyone wanting to have a direct impact on animals' wellbeing as well as needing a break from the backpacking lifestyle. Some things to note to make sure this is the experience for you: it's very rural so any shops or anything out with the volunteer house can only be reached by motorbike. You work 6 days a week so bring a hard working attitude! :)

It was a really great experience — I'm very grateful that I got to spend so much time with the dogs, and I hope many of them will find their forever homes soon! I highly recommend this place if you want to get away from the city noise for a while and share your love with dogs.

Muttland is a peaceful place, far from mass tourism and surrounded by nature — and that isolation makes the experience deeply authentic. What makes it truly special is the founder's dedication: from the shelter to vet clinics and street rescues, everything is done with love and purpose.
