The Experience
Por trabajo, tengo que irme de viaje unas semanas y necesito alguien que cuide de mis 3 gatos y haga tareas básicas de mantenimiento en el jardín. El viaje es del 1 al 15 de sept pero me gustarían unos días previos de convivencia. Se puede teletrabajar ya que hay internet de alta velocidad. La cocina y lavandería está a total disposición. En el pueblo hay supermercado y los domingos (cada 15 días) hay mercado de productos de proximidad.

My first volunteering experience couldn't have been more special. I'm deeply grateful to Lydia, the best host I could have asked for (and now my friend!), and to everyone in the Pueblo, who made this journey unforgettable. I'll carry with me all that I've learned and the connections I made. For those reading: don't think twice, this is the right place for a unique volunteering experience. Beautiful project! Had the opportunity to meet Lydia and stay in this wonderful country was a blessing. Lydia, the neighbors and the other residents of Castro are wonderful people who will make you feel welcomed. The ad sounded nice to me but I did not think the reality could be so good. Lydia is friendly, interesting, welcoming. She came to meet my needs (upon arrival for example, or giving me everything I needed to be comfortable) in addition to also giving me so many opportunities to do so many different things. I felt so much freedom in managing my time an and work, I just regret not having done more.

It was my first trip by worldpackers, but I couldn't have had a better first experience. Lydia was very nice and friendly, I think we quickly found common ground. The accommodation was fantastic and clean, a real traditional Spanish stone house. The locals were also nice. I can only recommend the place!

¡Estar en la comunidad se siente como estar en familia! Tanto Lydia como sus vecinos fueron de lo más acogedores desde el principio y es una casa súper agradable, hecha con mucho cariño. Castro de Rei está en un enclave espectacular, muy recomendable si buscas desconectar de la ciudad. Respecto a las tareas, Lydia es bastante flexible respecto a horarios y se prioriza el trabajo en conjunto. Ha sido un placer compartir estas semanas con ella. Experiencia de diez.

Mi tiempo en la comunidad fue inolvidable! Por las personas y el paisaje. El pueblo está lleno de gente quiere conservar su historia y a la misma vez revivir el pueblo. Me encantó ver esto! Fue un intercambio inmersivo hermoso en donde tuve la oportunidad de pasar bastante tiempo con los vecinos y escuchar sus historias. Estoy súper agradecida con Lydia por haberme dejado ser parte de esto y por llevarme a pasear por Galicia. Desde el principio tenía claro cuáles eran las tareas con que podía ayudar, y que me sintiera cómoda. Muchas gracias Lydia por todo! Ojalá regrese algún día. <3
