The Experience

The farm is a mixed livestock hill farm, we have sheep, cows and a few pigs. This is very much a new project so there's a lot of work underway converting infrastructure and putting new projects together with holistic regenerative systems in mind. Daily tasks vary greatly on the season and the weather. Livestock work could include moving the sheep and cows onto the next paddock, or feeding the pigs. Every day is different.

Owain is a very kind, fun and generous person. He was always open to discuss volunteer time and tasks, allowing me to feel like I had given something back for my enjoyable stay. I even got to meet a couple of his friends who were super friendly and fun. Volunteer hours are well respected, and I was able to learn about livestock, regenerative farming, painting and fencing. The farm is set in beautiful green landscapes that I will definitely miss. I hope to have the opportunity to return to the farm, see its progress, and learn a little more Welsh. Diolch, amigo!

I had an amazing experience at the farm! Owain, the host, is a very welcoming and experienced man, we'd a lot of nice talks about travels and life The work is very rewarding and we would do somenthing different every day, such as moving sheeps through fields, painting, gardening, cooking, house holding and more. The hours were well respected! He also taught me a lot about regenerative farming, how to deal with livestock, and even how to drive a tractor! We did barbecue at the beautiful lake nearby and went hiking at a nice valley with waterfalls I definitely recommend this project!
