The Experience

You'll find yourself split between the calm of the countryside and the lively atmosphere of Lisbon. On the farm, we're creating a peaceful, sustainable space where we can grow our own food and eventually host guests or even run retreats focused on yoga, tantra, personal development. In the city, there's a boat that needs some TLC—cleaning, repairs, and maybe even a little sailing fun. Whether we're working on the farm, fixing up the boat!

My volunteering experience with Paulo was very positive. I had the chance to help with different tasks like cleaning, gardening, taking care of the animals, and general maintenance. The environment is familiar and welcoming — Paulo treats you like family and appreciates when you're proactive and efficient. He's also very flexible and understanding; in my case, I had to leave earlier due to a job opportunity, and he fully supported my decision. I recommend this experience to anyone looking for a meaningful exchange, where you can contribute, learn, and feel at home.

My time at Paulo's farm was great, i only wish the weather had been better. Luckily we had a few sunny days in algarve while working on his boat. It is a bit of a journey to get into the centre of the farm but Paulo often goes to the city and may be able to offer a lift . Paulo is very friendly and welcoming, he expects you to work fast and be proactive. The work involved gardening, caring for chickens and rabbits, house repairs and cleaning. I was able to improve my Portuguese plenty which was my main goal :)

Paulo is a dedicated, caring and fun host on his farm. The work is varied, with challenging and easy tasks. You will learn about plant care and planting. Tasks: painting, preparing soil, feeding chickens, cooking, cleaning, etc. The farm is about an hour from the farm, accessible by public transport (with a bit of walking). Paulo sometimes travels to the farm and can take you/bring you back (confirm). He values proactivity and communication. You will be in a familiar environment and learn a lot about the country and rural life. I highly recommend this experience!

Volunteering on this farm was a unique and nice experience, the nature around is beautiful, with planes flying above and the ocean in view — very peaceful and inspiring! Paulo is kind and positive. I really enjoyed our conversations on a variety of topics. The room was comfortable and the food was OK - though it could have been better considering the amount of physical work. Just keep in mind — the work is very physically demanding, It's clearly stated but it was even harder than I expected! I recommend this position only if you're in good shape and ready for really hard hard work!!!
