I cannot recommend Lilian's sanctuary enough. I stayed for two weeks and the experience has fundamentally changed my perspective by helping me to focus on the basics and find deeper meaning in my behaviour and interests. Spending time with Lilian taught me that relaxing and connecting with nature is the key to confronting yourself. Lilian has two rescues horses, five lovely dogs, and five wonderful cats. This is more than just a horse sanctuary, this is an animal haven on beautiful land in rural Mexico. Here, you'll connect with locals and get a true Yucatán experience. Can't wait to return!

My stay at Lilián's was mixed. She is an amazing and kind woman who goes out of her way to make you feel at home! She was great for practicing Spanish! Her animals are lovely and your work can be adapted to exactly suite what you're interested in! Plus, your work is visibly helping her property. The issue is you're camping in a jungle with no electricity at the tent - so no fan. This made sleeping in the tent unbearably hot. Between heat/humidity/mosquitos, I had to leave early... Now I had a flu, it was hot season, and she is always improving her place so this was just my experience

Hey! Thank you so much for being here and for your kind words. You're such a smart and a really beautiful person. Thank you for sharing your real experience. I hope you feel better too 😊 I know... Rainy season is not always a good moment to come into the jungle...

A truly an experience in all the senses. Lilian was so welcoming and down to earth. Volunteers need to expect a simple place but it's in progress. It is a community feel and you all help out with cooking and the shopping and the jobs needed on the land. The two horses are amazing, Aquiles and Moro, the care they receive is to become free horses again and they are looked after with such love and respect which you learn. The are rescued cats and dogs and the village is close enough to walk but you still feel in nature and can disconnect. It is a sanctuary not just for horses but people too💙💙

Lillian and Aquilles (the horse) are wonderful! Both beings have much to offer in the ways of strengthening intuition and personal power. I gained skills in leadership with Aquilles, and understood more how to care for a horse in a reciprocal way. I got to improve my Spanish as well. Her home is just far enough away from town to feel peaceful, and she lives in accordance with the weather. Its rugged, wild, and beautiful. What a unique place! i recommend staying 10-25 days.and take a day to see the cenotes! the work was a little unclear, but left time to find inspiration and initiative! healing
