Hola, almas errantes.

Desde hace aproximadamente 4 años y medio, la vida nos ha guiado hasta Homún, un lugar donde aún se respira el espíritu ancestral del pueblo maya. Aquí, compartimos los días con nuestros compañeros de camino: perros, gatos y caballos; guardianes silenciosos de este Santuario natural en donde pretendemos devolver a los caballos que aquí habiten una mínima parte de lo que esta especie ha entregado a la humanidad en trabajo, esfuerzo y amor incondicional.

Amarás estar en contacto con la naturaleza vibrante. Inmerso en la selva.

Nuestra intención es dar vida a una comunidad, un espacio donde cada talento, cada proyecto y cada expresión del corazón serán recibidos con gratitud, ya sea arte, pintura, trabajos manuales, artesanía, creación o cualquier otro don que lleves dentro, tu luz, tiene un lugar aquí.

En este lugar vivimos en armonía con la naturaleza. No hay electricidad, es el sol quien alimenta nuestras lámparas, nuestras herramientas y a veces, incluso nuestros espíritus.

El agua con la que nos bañamos proviene directamente del pozo, un recordatorio sagrado del vínculo profundo entre el ser humano y la tierra.

Este no es un voluntariado común: es una inmersión en el corazón palpitante de la cultura maya. Aquí puedes aprender sobre la medicina ancestral, trabajar con plantas y flores medicinales, y recibir todo lo que ellas decidan compartir contigo. Homún es un territorio sagrado, lleno de historia, de memoria chamánica y de sabiduría antigua.

Realizamos terapias asistidas con caballos —seres majestuosos que leen el alma—, como Constelaciones Familiares y Coaching Sistémico, guiadas tanto por el cielo como por la tierra. Si te interesa introducirte más en su mundo y saber mucho más de esta especie salvaje en su hábitat natural, te recomendamos que al menos te quedes 3 semanas en las cuales tendrás la oportunidad de crear un vínculo indisoluble, aunque la invitación está abierta a permanecer desde 1 semana y después podrás decidir si quedarte un poco más. Siempre serás bienvenido (a).

Este es un espacio de reconexión, un territorio interior donde uno se encuentra a sí mismo.

Homún es también el corazón de los cenotes en México; después del trabajo, podrás dejarte llamar por sus aguas profundas, cargadas de misterio e historia. Y si el movimiento te invita a otros caminos, Mérida está a tan solo una hora.

Para nosotros, lo más importante es que te sientas bien, libre y en paz. Que te sientas como en casa.

Compartimos las comidas, pero la cocina está completamente a tu disposición si deseas preparar tus propios alimentos; aquí nada es rígido, por el contrario, queremos que disfrutes al máximo y construyas un vínculo permanente. Cada uno camina a su propio ritmo, guiado por lo que la tierra, el cielo y el corazón le susurran.

Nos encantaría conocerte y lograr tener ese vínculo real en el que ambas partes nos quedemos siempre con ganas de volver a vernos.

For about four and a half years, life has led us to Homun, a place where the ancestral spirit of the Mayan people still breathes. Here, we share our days with our companions on this journey: dogs, cats, and horses, silent guardians of this natural Sanctuary, where we intend to give back to the horses that live here a small part of what this species has given to humanity: work, effort, and unconditional love.

You will love being in contact with vibrant nature, immersed in the jungle. We intend to give life to a community, a space where every talent, every project, and every expression of the heart will be received with gratitude. Whether it's art, painting, handicrafts, crafts, creation, or any other gift you carry within, your light has a place here.

In this place, we live in harmony with nature. There is no electricity; it is the sun that powers our lamps, our tools, and sometimes even our spirits.

The water we bathe in comes directly from the well, a sacred reminder of the profound bond between humankind and the Earth.

This is not your average volunteer experience: it's an immersion into the beating heart of Mayan culture. Here you can learn about ancestral medicine, work with medicinal plants and flowers, and receive all that they choose to share with you. Homun is a sacred territory, steeped in history, shamanic memory, and ancient wisdom. We offer equine-assisted therapies—horses being majestic creatures that read the soul—such as Family Constellations and Systemic Coaching, guided by both heaven and earth. If you're interested in delving deeper into their world and learning more about this wild species in its natural habitat, we recommend staying at least three weeks, during which you'll have the opportunity to forge an unbreakable bond. However, you're welcome to stay for as little as one week, and then decide if you wish to extend your stay. You'll always be welcome.

This is a space for reconnection, an inner realm where you find yourself.
Homun is also the heart of the cenotes; after work, you can let yourself be drawn to its deep waters, steeped in mystery and history. And if the journey calls you to other paths, Mérida is just an hour away.

For us, the most important thing is that you feel good, free, and at peace. That you feel at home. We share meals, but the kitchen is entirely at your disposal if you wish to prepare your own food; here, nothing is rigid. On the contrary, we want you to enjoy yourself to the fullest and build a lasting connection. Everyone walks at their own pace, guided by what the earth, the sky, and their heart whisper to them.

Basic internet access is available, but enough to have a good time and thrive in a rustic and wildly beautiful environment :)

Por lo general trabajamos en el santuario varias personas al día. Cada una en sus diferentes labores, todas relacionadas siempre con el bienestar de los caballos. El trabajo de los voluntarios es un trabajo que nace desde el amor y todo el tiempo tienen un lugar especial, cada uno recibe cariño, respeto y buen trato. Creemos que cuando una persona pone sus conocimientos y esfuerzo al servicio de otros gana un espacio muy importante y deja huella a donde quiera que va. Tendrás 2 días de descanso a la semana, el horario de trabajo es por las mañanas preferentemente, pero no exclusivo, tú puedes elegir la hora en la que deseas aportar tu conocimiento y ayuda. Tendrás acceso a una cocina en donde podrás traer o cocinar tus propios alimentos y compartir con otros que hagan lo mismo que tú. Tu estancia incluye casa de campaña, baños comunitarios con regadera, espacios para descansar y disfrutar y si deseas, una bicicleta para que te traslades al poblado. También podemos organizar excursiones cercanas para que conozcas la región con costo aparte. The work will be hard and intense, but rewarding and loving, as we aim to give back to the horses who live here a small part of what this species has given to humanity through work, effort, and unconditional love. We always try to work as a team to advance further. The tasks are simple and achievable by anyone with interest and focus. The most important part of our work relates to emotional healing through horse-assisted therapy, wonderful beings whom you'll have the opportunity to observe from a different perspective. In this place, these beautiful animals are not ridden; all the work we do with them is done on foot. If you're interested in delving deeper into their world and learning more about this wild species in its natural habitat, we recommend staying for at least three weeks, during which you'll have the opportunity to create an unforgettable bond. Typically, several people work at the sanctuary each day, each in their own unique roles, all always related to the well-being of the horses. Volunteer work is born from love, and they always have a special place; each one receives affection, respect, and kind treatment. We believe that when a person puts their knowledge and effort to work for others, they gain a very important place and leave a mark wherever they go. You'll have two days off per week. Work hours are preferably in the morning, but not exclusively. You can choose the time you want to contribute your knowledge and help. You'll have access to a kitchen where you can bring or cook your own food and share with others who do the same. Your stay includes a tent, communal bathrooms with showers, spaces to relax and enjoy, and if you wish, we can provide a bicycle for you to travel to the village. We can also organize nearby excursions to explore the region, additional cost. We would greatly appreciate your weekly contribution of $63 USD to cover food costs.
