The Experience

We're looking for foreign volunteers with a passion for nature education to work with the kids in the local village school, where we've just begun to implement an English and environmental studies curriculum that will help the kids to build a strong connection to nature as well as help them learn about this beautiful planet and how to take care of it. Volunteers will teach some English classes and lead some nature-based activities in English.

The eco village is a wonderful place to learn, work and meet amazing people. I loved my stay there and it's really likely to come back. I stayed for four weeks, three of them me and 2 others lovely guys were involved in a project to build a compost toilet with wood and materials from around for the upcoming workshop. Luckily besides some small details we could finish it in time. I worked too much in that project that I wasn't able to get deeper into the other sustainable volunteer tasks. The community life was great. I found the deep connections that I was looking for. So much love and empathy! ❤️

Staying at the eco village was a peaceful, fun and transformative experience. The people are super sweet and though the work can often be pretty tiring manual labor in the sun, the environment is beautiful and everyone is very understanding if you need a little time off if you're sick or something. I will say almost everyone was older than me (I'm 19) but still lovely and great to connect with. There is the opportunity to join yoga, dance and meditation sessions on top of the volunteer work which contributes to the environmentally conscious community.

We had the most amazing two weeks at the eco village and were sad to leave. Tom and Om have built a wonderful community that welcomed us warmly and introduced us to permaculture and sustainable living practices. The daily activities were diverse and fun especially working alongside other international volunteers and also local villagers. We plan to come back in the future to see how the eco village has changed, because there's many things in the pipeline!

I have a really sweet time at the eco village :) Two small things- I wasn't able to spend much time in the garden because our focus was building a new school, and the yoga teacher was gone so there were not yoga classes every day. If these two things are really important to you I would just check in beforehand. BUT that being said the eco village is a beautiful place with fun, homey energy. And I really really enjoyed my time there. It's special to find a place like this that is so integrated into its local community. I felt seen, heard, and at peace here. And I'll really miss it!
