The Gompel casino was an amazing experience and not what I expected at all! Lawrence is a great host and you can tell that from the first text messages he sends you. He always takes his role as leader and takes his time to learn the way through the doors of your heart and to help you figure out your potential. He is also always open to ideas, suggestions and complaints. The volunteers that you come across with are very unique in my experience and they always look out for each other, in the end you become like a family. The working hours may vary from simple to very hard, but always manageable.

My experience in the Casino was amazing. The team work made me feel like at home from the very first day. And the beauty and history of the castle where just breathtaking. Lawrence is one of the most attentive, communicative, high spirited hosts I've had the pleasure to work with, an incredible leader! His vision for the organization project were most inspirational for me. I learned a lot about restoring : sanding, plastering and painting windows was something I've never done before, and had sooo much fun doing! I hope to come back in the future ❤

What a place for anyone feel alive and active as part of a brillant the organization surrounded with nice personalities; I was seeking for a experience where I would live out of my box to improve my inner self and I totally find that there! Excellent place for collect histories, make friends, connect with the nature, learn new skills (useful skills) and contribute with a good cause! Also the host is a super nice guy with a good heart and great knowledge package!

The experience at the casino was very fulfilling. Lawrence and the rest of the volunteers made it very easy to feel welcomed expect to learn many new skills, make international friends and have a great time overall as you'll be part of a meaningful project. There's many different tasks that you can be part of and they will be explained accordingly, the work schedule was respected and flexible if needed, I'd definitely come back and would love to see the final result.

Volunteering at the Casino was really fun! I got to learn about sanding, plastering, painting, bartending, and more. The place is not a hotel (yet) but it has all sorts of things and if you need anything else, Lawrence always gets it. The activities can be hard at times but not difficult; you get to da bit of everything. Lawrence, his daughter, and the rest of the team make you feel at home. I got to meet people from different countries that I can now call my friends. I definitely recommend this experience and if you have any specific questions, please dm me. Thanks again, Lawrence!

My experience in the casino was amazing. The team and people you meet there are very nice and will help you with any questions you have. You will meet people from all over the world and make friends. I learned a lot of new things that will be very useful for my future. The work depends on what needs to be done but there are always different options. I hope to be back soon!

It was an incredible experience, you will meet very nice people, who will make you feel at home. It is very easy to get to the volunteer site and from there you can go out to see the nearby cities by train, work schedules are respected and there is also flexibility when you want to visit a city for more days. It is a very good project and there are still many things to do, so if you have knowledge in construction or carpentry, you will be a great contribution, I want to thank Lawrence and Johanneke, they are tremendous hosts.

This is an active project, some of the rooms and living areas are still being built/ under construction, so be ready for some cracked walls and some dust. But the people are amazing, you will learn SO MUCH about construction, food, and friends. You focus on big projects like building sheds, and new walls, and then on Sunday help run the cafe! The project leaders were awesome and very involved!

The stay the organization with Lawrence and the team was great! We were welcomed by lots of friendly people that simply grew and grew, and it was a good environment to be in. With the building being heavily renovated, volunteers should expect to live in some old abandoned rooms that have old graffiti on the wall, but between working and being social with the other volunteers, you wont spend much time in your room! The work was good, you are thrown into tasks you may have never done, but now I have come away with expereince of putting up gutters and using angle grinders, so its very rewarding!
