The Experience

Hello :) We're a alternative and cozy hostel looking for volunteers to help us with housekeeping and general tasks. We search for someone who is friendly and eclectic, just like the rest of our staff! We're located in Old Montreal, known for its architecture and history. Every necessary store is within a 15-minute walking distance. We'll give you the best addresses in town! We always try our very best so you have you off-days all together.

Hey ! I spent 1 month at the hostel and I can only advise you to go! I was made very welcome by the great team. We met lots of lovely people passing through the hostel. The work required is done in good humour. What's more, the hostel is superbly located, so you can da lot of things and discover Montreal. I would definitely come back to the hostel. I absolutely loved my stay. I met the most amazing people and had the best time! The atmosphere is so positive and light, it's super easy to meet other travelers and fall in love with the city. The few hours of work a day are a great exchange for accommodation and the hostel has everything one could need, super friendly staff, well equipped kitchen, clean rooms, recommendations for things to do, and events. I am going to miss the lovely people and my time at the hostel, and when I'm back in Montreal I definitely know where I'll be staying.

I had great month in Alt Hostel and Montreal! 💞 Since the approval Laura was very attentive and caring. The rest of the team (Ramón, Megan, Sabina, Morgan, Claire, Isaac, Lamine and Eloï), is also very kind, welcoming and caring, always available to help you. The tasks are easy to accomplish. The schedules were respected which let me plenty or free time to get to know the city. The kitchen is very well equipped, with more than the necessary! The hostel is in a great location, just a walking distance from the Vieux Port. I highly recommend this place! 🤩

At the Auberge Alt Hostel, we were able to have a pleasant experience immersed in the heart of Montreal, within walking distance of the nearest subway or for that matter any attraction you want to visit. The work was always well managed and gives you plenty of free time to enjoy the city and meet locals and international people with whom to share hostel evenings. The whole Alt Hostel team is always helpful and ready to help, it's an experience I highly recommend !! 😊
