The alt hostel in Montreal is a great place to volunteer at ! The staff are super friendly, everyone is always down for a quick chat, and the tasks are explained really well and I always felt very comfortable to ask if I forgot how to do something or didn't understand. All the other volunteers were amazing and I made some great friends, same goes for the guests, very polite and friendly. I had the best time here and would definitely recommend !!!

I highly recommend this hostel, the staff are so nice and the working hours are reasonable. You work between 3 to 3 and 1/2 hours on cleaning or events which give you a lot of time to explore the city and make friends in the hostel. I had an amazing experience and have fell in love with Montreal.

I had a great time volunteering at this hostel. The work is fair, normally from 10:30-14:15 but sometimes you can finish earlier. It's in a great location, right next to the old port, lovely for walks and runs. Living conditions are good, with the kitchen and common area having everything you need. Supermarkets, especially cheaper ones, are a bit out of the way but there is enough fridge/storage space to buy in bulk and meal prep. My French really improved while I was here too. I think one month here was the perfect amount of time. Thanks for everything guys!

My experience at Alt Hostel was absolutely incredible! From the very beginning, Laura was very kind, patiently answering all my questions and accommodating my requests. The hostel itself is ideally located in the heart of Old Montreal, placing you within walking distance of many tourist attractions. The facilities are excellent — the beds are comfortable, the environment is consistently clean, and the work hours are completely reasonable. What truly made the experience unforgettable, however, was the reception team and other volunteers. I'm going to miss each and every one of you!

This experience was my first with World Packers, and I couldn't have asked for a better one. The managers at the reception desk, the other volunteers, and even some of the guests felt like family. The work was fair, the training useful. The location was safe and close to perfect (you do have to walk about 20 minutes for groceries or take transit). I want to come back!
