Volunteering at the World Peace Café was a wonderful and enriching experience in every way. I learned how to be a barista and especially how to prepare food. Lorraine, the café manager, is an incredible, charismatic, kind and patient woman. The room was very comfortable and, even though we are not vegetarian/vegan, we always had a full fridge and Lorraine did everything she could to make us feel at home. I was also able to improve my English. Leicester is a cute city, with lots of young people and fun on the weekends, a good place to meet locals or foreigners. Thank you for all! 😊🙏🏻

Volunteering here was my first Worldpackers experience, and I couldn't recommend it more! The team was incredibly kind and welcoming, creating a positive and supportive environment. Lorraine, the manager, and Chodor were both understanding and patient! I had a great time working in the café, everyone had their own tasks, but we always helped each other out whenever needed. It was truly an unforgettable experience, and I highly recommend it!

I was in the center for 3 weeks and I loved it! I met incredible people, I felt welcomed and I also loved the city! Lorraine is one of the best people I have ever met, Chodor and Bea are very kind and it was a gift to spend time with all of them! The work at the café is not difficult, if you dedicate yourself you will have one of the best experiences of your life! I left admiring Buddhism even more! Thank you Lorraine, Bea, Diane, Chodor and thank you for spending time with the dear volunteers who were there with me, they are friendships that I will cherish forever! 😍

This was my first volunteering experience and it couldn't have gone any better! Lorraine, the café manager, Chodor and the whole World Peace Café team were very welcoming, patient and kind people to work with and learn from. Throughout my three weeks there, I got to switch between working as a barista, floor & service, food prep and till, as well as baking and cleaning. I'm also grateful to have caught a glimpse of the local life here and the activities in the buddhist the project! Everything was exactly as agreed upon, hard work but lots of fun. Definitely would recommend :)

My experience at the café was enriching and fulfilling. Over three weeks, I took on tasks like serving customers, preparing food, and helping in the kitchen. The team was welcoming and created a supportive environment. The peaceful atmosphere of the Buddhist center made it even more special, allowing me to reflect and grow. I also appreciated observing the leadership and planning, which brought back insights from my past retail experience. Thank you for this meaningful opportunity!

Volunteering at the project Center was my first Worldpackers and the best experience! Our team was full of different international travelers, and we ran the World Peace Cafe which was so cute and fun. Lorraine was an amazing manager and always very patient and understanding. Volunteers who didn't know English got a chance to practice, meanwhile I got to explore the Buddhist faith through free books and the project classes. The city of Leicester has a lot to offer as well, so much to do. Gonna miss it here so much.

One of the most interesting WP experiences I've had! Everybody had the chance to rotate between 2 (or more) roles such as floor service / food / cashier / barista depending on their ability and preference. Lorraine, the cafe & center manager is the nicest boss you will EVER meet in the real world. She was so patient, kind, considerate to everybody despite each of own shortcomings. Lorraine kept us so well fed and the fridge so well stocked that I could cook whatever I wanted! The community here is awesome and I loved living in little Leicester! Safe and cosy!

I had a really positive experience. Everything stated in the offer was delivered as promised, and they stick to the schedules you're given, which is great. The managers are not only respectful but also very friendly and approachable. You can share your knowledge and ideas freely, and they are always appreciated. Most importantly, if you're looking for a quiet place to meditate and find peace, this place will be perfect for you.

What a great experience! Working on this project not only allowed me to learn new skills but also gave me the opportunity to connect with other international travelers and form a great team. The work was fair, easygoing, and fulfilling. Lorraine, who is an incredible manager, and Chodor, who is incredibly kind, made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Together, they created a positive and supportive environment where everyone felt comfortable and motivated. Without a doubt, this is a place I would love to come back to. ✌️

It was my first volunteering and I would repeat it definitely, it has been a very rewarding experience. The treatment there was always very friendly and attentive, Lorreine, the manager, was always very attentive and pleasant with the volunteers. The food in the cafeteria was great and the center was very nice and quiet, also adding that the project classes are very good. I learned a lot there and improved my level of English quite a bit in the short time I was there. I recommend it for all those who want to live a peaceful experience and connect with themselves :)
