The Experience

The café is a big part of our meditation center. General cleaning is involved in the café and also around the center. The café is a nice environment however can be very busy and physically demanding on your feet all day. We give you training however some knowledge of café environment food prep and cleaning is helpful. We work as a team helping each other. Two evening meditation classes are available weekly to attend plus some Sunday classes.

This was my first volunteering experience and I really enjoyed it! The whole team are very welcoming and supportive, the cafe managers Jemma and Diego always made the work enjoyable and easy to understand. The cafe is in a very good location and also near bus station which is good for day trips on the weekend. It was really cool getting to know the other volunteers and learning about everyone's country. It was a great first volunteering experience and I definitely recommend it.

Volunteering at the project in Leicester was my very first volunteer experience, and I really enjoyed it. The location in the city the project was great, although it could get a little noisy at night. The managers, Jemma and Diego, were wonderful, and everyone there was always kind and welcoming. I also had the chance to meet amazing fellow volunteers, which made the experience even better.

This was such an amazing volunteering experience! Jemma was absolutely wonderful – always helpful, supportive and kind. Diego always made sure there was fun, and John and Lorraine were also incredibly nice and welcoming. Even though I had no previous experience working in a café, everything was very easy thanks to their great system. The food was delicious and we always got whatever we asked for. I also met so many amazing people from all over the world, which made the experience even more special. The location is perfect, right in the heart of the city. I truly enjoyed my time here.

This was my first volunteer experience, and it was absolutely worth it. I really enjoyed working at the café, where I had the chance to meet new people and try out a variety of tasks. The environment was welcoming, and I met amazing people from different countries, as well as locals. This not only made the experience more enriching but also helped me improve my English significantly. The café was a fantastic place to work and socialize, and I highly recommend this opportunity to anyone, whether it's their first volunteer experience or if they're looking to challenge themselves in a new setting

This second experience has been incredible. I'm grateful to the management team for inviting me back to work with them and excellent colleagues from around the world. It's very fun and enjoyable to work here. It's a caring and respectful environment where you can perform a variety of tasks, often very simple, while also practicing English. The location is excellent because it allows you to explore the city in your free time. I will be eternally grateful to World Peace Café.
