This experience was both educational and enjoyable. Angela was kind, communicative, and always helpful—she even showed me beautiful local spots and beaches. I learned a lot about Romania thanks to her. The two young women working there were also very helpful, and the host's mother, though she didn't speak English, made learning Romanian words fun. Overall, it was an unforgettable time full of learning, laughter, and wonderful people. Thank you!

My time here offered a genuine look into Romanian life. The work schedule was clear — usually 4 to 6 hours a day with three days off — allowing plenty of time to explore. Angela was supportive and welcoming, often sharing great tips on where to go and what to see, and even took me to some incredible beaches. The two young women working there were also kind and very helpful throughout. The food was a real highlight — I loved discovering the local cuisine. And although the host's mother doesn't speak English we got on really well. Overall, a well-ballanced mix of work and great company.

Hello, dear volunteer, this was my first experience, and was a really bad one. She kicked me out from the second day, saying i talk too much, and i dont work as much as i talk. I completed my first day of work, and when was dinner time, it was barbecue day, so i offered to do it, and i started to do it... but everything i did, was a wrong way of doing it, so i let her do it... the next morning, after a poor and cheap breakfast, she said they dont like me, and cant fit into the team, even though she could not say i did something wrong... anyway, i saw she had bad reviews... and they are real.

Hello Adrian, we are sorry for the fact that you wished to stay longer but there are some principles that we follow and we need volunteers to help not to tell us how to do business. We needed you to fix and repair staff here and all you coud do is to complain how things are not fixed ( that was your responsability to do not only to complain). You drink too much, disturb clients who want to have privacy, inapropiate speak ab us and people that were already here didnt fell safe to have you around.

Other travellers need to be aware of huge cultural differences and mentality. I'm a solo female traveller and I enjoy meeting new people and exploring in my free time. Angela told me I had a night (and the following day) off work so I thought I'd go to a nearby town. The chaos and drama - and accusations of criminal behaviour that followed were just insane. I've since learned that many ladies go to Costinești in summer to sell their bodies. I am not one of them. I was asked to leave at 10pm (no public transport, no taxis) just for being an independent woman. I left on day 3. Do not volunteer.

Angela replied

Good bless you Sophie! Your intentions comming here do not meet the place criteria so you were ask to leave earlier because you bring to the place in 2 days many men from the area that have criminal records and we know what is their job. Is you choise how you live your life but we cannot accept this kind of activities in our place. Plus one of our customer men that visit us every year told us what you propose him in the first day you came. Shame on you for doing this kind of things!

I'd have fun walking in the beach and getting to know the locals. Angela was always attentive to me, make me feel like a friend, she even introduced me to her friends and we all went out eating and partying!
