I had such a nice time! Meeting Angela and her mother as well as the other workers was lovely, everyone was very welcoming and generous. The work was also very manageable and left plenty of free time. I can't wait to return to Romania again some time, thank you for everything!

This experience was both educational and enjoyable. Angela was kind, communicative, and always helpful—she even showed me beautiful local spots and beaches. I learned a lot about Romania thanks to her. The two young women working there were also very helpful, and the host's mother, though she didn't speak English, made learning Romanian words fun. Overall, it was an unforgettable time full of learning, laughter, and wonderful people. Thank you!

My time here offered a genuine look into Romanian life. The work schedule was clear — usually 4 to 6 hours a day with three days off — allowing plenty of time to explore. Angela was supportive and welcoming, often sharing great tips on where to go and what to see, and even took me to some incredible beaches. The two young women working there were also kind and very helpful throughout. The food was a real highlight — I loved discovering the local cuisine. And although the host's mother doesn't speak English we got on really well. Overall, a well-ballanced mix of work and great company.

Angela was a good person, but there were things I wish I had known. The ad said hotel work, but some days we had to do very hard gardening in a random house, which was exhausting and not suitable for volunteers. Some days we worked less, but once 12h straight to reach 24h/week and I think that work 12h being volunteers(without salary) is unacceptable . The food was okay but portions were small, and the ad said we could use the kitchen but later she said no. Positive side: she was very flexible with free days. And the girls that were already working there are magnific persons and help us a lot.

Hello! thanks for being part of the team. About the 12h day work it happend once (3h was drive) during your 3 weeks stay considering that you had more that 4 days off/week ( not only 3 as it shoud be) and you didnt complet 24 h/week the working hours because we didnt have what to give you to do as you were not able to help to fix or clean the hotel even if while you applied you mentioned you do. Please be more sincere with people when you apply so that they will know if they need your help :)

Hello, dear volunteer, this was my first experience, and was a really bad one. She kicked me out from the second day, saying i talk too much, and i dont work as much as i talk. I completed my first day of work, and when was dinner time, it was barbecue day, so i offered to do it, and i started to do it... but everything i did, was a wrong way of doing it, so i let her do it... the next morning, after a poor and cheap breakfast, she said they dont like me, and cant fit into the team, even though she could not say i did something wrong... anyway, i saw she had bad reviews... and they are real.

Hello Adrian, we are sorry for the fact that you wished to stay longer but there are some principles that we follow and we need volunteers to help not to tell us how to do business. We needed you to fix and repair staff here and all you coud do is to complain how things are not fixed ( that was your responsability to do not only to complain). You drink too much, disturb clients who want to have privacy, inapropiate speak ab us and people that were already here didnt fell safe to have you around.

Other travellers need to be aware of huge cultural differences and mentality. I'm a solo female traveller and I enjoy meeting new people and exploring in my free time. Angela told me I had a night (and the following day) off work so I thought I'd go to a nearby town. The chaos and drama - and accusations of criminal behaviour that followed were just insane. I've since learned that many ladies go to Costinești in summer to sell their bodies. I am not one of them. I was asked to leave at 10pm (no public transport, no taxis) just for being an independent woman. I left on day 3. Do not volunteer.

Good bless you Sophie! Your intentions comming here do not meet the place criteria so you were ask to leave earlier because you bring to the place in 2 days many men from the area that have criminal records and we know what is their job. Is you choise how you live your life but we cannot accept this kind of activities in our place. Plus one of our customer men that visit us every year told us what you propose him in the first day you came. Shame on you for doing this kind of things!

I'd have fun walking in the beach and getting to know the locals. Angela was always attentive to me, make me feel like a friend, she even introduced me to her friends and we all went out eating and partying!

Nice experience. The hotel is near from city centre and beach. The city is great! We went to another's city's around. Angela is helpful and respectful, her mother is nice (I didn't understand what she speaks, but is ok). The program girls are very cool! In general was a good experience.

It wasn't at all a pleasant experience for me and I do not recommend it to anyone who is social , and wants fun or peace .

Angela replied

Beeing social with gipsyes to the level of putting anyone in danger it cannot be fun and peace for sure. Regarding going out at the best restaurants and having all payed by us I guess this was fun...imature and arogant atitude for sure for us was a lesson not to accept certain types of people. Disappoining at all levels!.

The experience was good! I had difficulty at certain times when receiving instructions due to the hosts mum only speaking Romanian but I eventually understood. The nearby beach is very nice.
