The Experience

Volunteers will be treated as part of the family, sharing our special home in the countryside. We need help with gardening, we have a large flower garden and grow our own vegetables. At mealtimes we appreciate volunteers doing their share of washing up and meal preparation. We provide support to volunteers to supervise tasks so experience not necessary but some knowledge would be an advantage. Enthusiasm and interest in gardening essential.

Phoebe and Tim are wonderful hosts and the home is a beautiful, special place! I thoroughly enjoyed learning about the cultivation and maintenance of flowers and vegetables, as well as spending time with them (they are both excellent cooks / chefs!) and exploring the area. The work hours are respected and clear, impeccable accommodation. They truly enjoy sharing their knowledge with Worldpackers and ensuring that they have a rich and enjoyable experience. I was there with another Worldpacker from Mexico and they helped us to see many sites and explore the area. I highly recommend this stay!

Our stay with Phoebe and Tim was simply wonderful. We truly felt at home—they are incredibly kind people. We also improved our English skills a lot—Phoebe and Tim were always patient and wonderful teachers. It was so comforting to see the process behind all the activities we did, whether it was gardening or anything else that was needed. The tasks were always simple and suited to our abilities, and our opinions were always taken into consideration. We would definitely recommend this beautiful volunteer experience. This was an absolutely wonderful experience. This was my first host as a world packer and I was impressed with how they managed the work and respected my time. phoebe and Tim were happy and engaged and a very peaceful couple who were easy to get along with. I learned so much while working in their gardens and also had time to wander the nearby towns, they were helpful in giving me all the details and info they could so it would always be an enjoyable outing. The area is beautiful and the space was historic and interesting. Thank you for a wonderful experience Tim and Phoebe!

My experience at the home was rewarding. Phoebe and Tim are wonderful people who made me feel at home. They are very attentive and gave me valuable tips on tours in Northern Ireland. Schedules are respected, the owners are flexible and meet the needs of the volunteers. The work may require some effort but it is enjoyable and rewarding. The property is surrounded by many fields and small woods. The house is sensational, with a lot of history and a wonderful garden. I recommend this experience to anyone who wants to get in touch with nature and with very nice people.
