The Experience

Join the team at our exciting eco wilderness camp! If you are energetic, and share our passion for wildlife, this is your place. Over the years we collected a lot of pictures from the wildlife living in Yala National Park - where our camp is based. We would love to create a good set of pictures to possibly display and sell. That's why we are looking for someone with a good eye for (wildlife) photography and excellent editing skills.

It's an incredible experience you live in a tent, surrounded by animals and the work is very dynamic! If you have the opportunity to do the Safari, it's incredible

This experience is definitely for a nature lover who loves all things outdoors and doesn't mind roughing it a little. Mano was the man in charge when Noel wasn't around, they were both very welcoming and friendly. Mano was always around to help when I had a tent malfunction or needed some help with my daily tasks. The staffs English wasn't great so communication was difficult at times but we got by and shared lots of laughs. They would always make sure I had plenty of food and help me with any heavy lifting. If you're looking for a lively sociable volunteer exchange however this isn't for you!

Volunteering here was such a unique and memorable experience! It is a great way to experience a more local/unseen side of the country and immerse yourself in all that the national park has to offer. While the experience might seem daunting for a solo female traveler, I felt comfortable for the majority of the experience despite feeling isolated at times. I'd recommend this experience for those that are passionate about nature, willing to take initiative when it comes to finding tasks, and have traveled solo previously. Wifi/cell service is strong in pockets at the camp, but not great.

My stay at the camping was short but lovely, the camp is stunning and it was great to be able to join the camping (which you pay for, as clearly communicated beforehand). I worked in the morning, mainly cleaning, housekeeping, general maintenance and helped a bit with the bar in the evening. Food is slightly repetitive but delicious, the tent is very comfortable (it does get a bit scary at night with animals roaming around). Overall I had a lovely stay, Noel and Manu are great hosts, I feel like I learnt a lot and I would definitely recommend the experience!

I had great time but was different from what I expected: I wasn't given a working time or precise instruction on what to do. You are in the middle of the jungle, with a lot of animals and at the beginning it was a bit scary but everyone is very kind and walk you to the tent if you need. Even with a lot of free time there isn't much to do in the surrounding area, you stay most of the time inside the camp and can use the pool. I got on very well with the staff, they were welcoming and always make sure that everything always went well for me.
