Program Details

The evening is one of the most important moments of life at our hostel. Because we host a small number of guests (maximum 20 people), the atmosphere stays intimate and personal. This allows real conversations, deeper connections, and turns each evening into a kind of social experiment, where strangers become a group sharing food, stories, and time together.

The evening usually starts around 18:00, together with the manager. The first part of the evening is dedicated to opening the bar, serving beer and wine, welcoming guests, and gently bringing everyone together in the garden or common areas.

Based on the number of guests staying at the hostel, the volunteer will have a daily budget. Together with the manager, the volunteer will go grocery shopping and decide what to cook that evening, depending on the planned event and the dinner concept. We usually cook Georgian or Italian dishes, vegetarian meals, or dishes inspired by the volunteer’s own culture. Cooking normally starts around 20:00, with the support of the manager and other volunteers who want to join.

Before dinner, the volunteer is responsible for counting how many people will eat, organizing the kitchen, and setting one shared table, where everyone eats together. During dinner, the volunteer helps run the bar, serving drinks, updating guests’ tabs, and keeping track of what is sold. At the end of the main service, the volunteer prepares a simple daily report of drinks sold and what needs to be bought again.

Dinner usually finishes around 22:00. After dinner, the volunteer helps organize games and social activities that encourage interaction and connection. These moments are an essential part of the experience and help transform the evening into something memorable.

The main bar usually closes at 00:00.
