I cant give a good rate for my time at the lodge's. When we picked up by Michele, we got the feeling that the interest was not mutual. He brought us to the lodge (doesnt speak english) and then they both left us at the house. We got an explanation about the proces from another volenteer, so the feeling of appreciation was lacking. This feeling stayed with me for the 10 days. I felt like this is more of a disguised stay rather than a true volenteer position. At no point i did feel that the lodge and Michele wanted to invest in our relationship. I find this very disappointing, and i hope they will change this.

When u only want to do hard work and don't want to be close to the hosts than this is the right thing for u. But they rely on volunteers. They don't explain anything, what the eco project is and there is no passion. You have to figure it out by yourself. You are just watering and doing the same, day after day. It feels like they earn money from us for business. Youre not part of the family. It's just you and the other volunteers. The hosts don't invest in you. They just don't care either. Only the day before leaving they invest a littlebit.. but perfect location and a good reset.

If yo are going to volunteer here, don't expect to get what they advertise. There is no communication with the host, only empty or rude answers, you will not learn anything about sustainability or farming, you are just told to do certain tasks and then they leave you to it, no explanations and no space for asking questions. As a volunteer, I do it to learn about the local culture and be involved in the community, but this was the first time I felt like I was paying to work. It feels like they only have volunteers to make money. I don't recommend this place.

The place is beautiful and peaceful, but the hosts were disappointing—no guidance, no tour, and no shared meals. Food was repetitive, work was monotonous with poor tools, and there was no gratitude at the end, just a request for money. The other volunteers made it enjoyable, but overall, the experience lacked warmth and appreciation.

I had a great time, it was a nice getaway from the city and all the planing. Prepare to get dirty and work hard but it's interesting and every day something different. Food is delicious and plentiful, mostly sticky rice, vegetables and eggs. You have plenty of time to relax and enjoy the nature.

As housekeeper I had to clean the rooms and bathrooms. Wash the sheets and hosts clothes. Then clean the dishes after each meal, so three times a day, which took me at least an hour. The jobs are very basic, but unfortunately the host wasn't particularly positive and didn't smile much. I could tell he wasn't very happy to have me for help. Then he expected all the tasks to be done his precise way. Sometimes I felt like I was at work but not getting paid (but am in vacation). But otherwise the place is completely beautiful and often dur

The lodge is a very nice place, the location is perfect to connect with nature and locals. Michele and the lodge are great people. The food is good (mainly rice and vegetables) and the animals are very cute. I highly recommend

The place has a lot of nature, kittens and cute dogs. The food is basic, mainly rice or noodles for lunch and dinner, limited variety of vegetables and little protein but I guess carbs are good for farm life. the lodge doesn't really speak English so sometimes it was hard to understand what she wanted us to do, there was a lot of garden work like digging holes or watering, also picking coffee beans etc, Miguel(who can speak English)was at a gueshouse about 10min walk away so,I dont feel like I learned as much as I hoped as the lodge couldnt explain anything to me.Work and hours can be flex so talk to Migel

It was really interesting and authentic but you should expect hard farm work. I liked the farm with all its animals and plants, being surrounded by beautiful mountains. It's a good place to connect with nature and also to meet other volunteers. Only it was not the place to deeply connect with locals. We had some communication problems with the lodge and Michele and we sometimes had to work more hours than agreed upon. Also, I felt like everything was a little chaotic there and needed some cleaning. Still, it was a nice experience to get a sneak peak into local farm life in the countryside of Laos.
