Best experience for my first volunteer work, I had so much fun! I would really recommend this hostel to everyone! It was a really good start for my first solo travel, you get so much out of your stay, the staff is really helpful and you make a lot of new friends from all over the world!

Really enjoyed the experience! The staff is very nice, met really nice people :) I'm really happy for this month and half i passed here, thank you. Also be prepared for a physical job, it can drain your energies the first days until you get used to, but then it's fine.

I've stayed there 3 weeks in April with 4 other nice volunteers. You have some advantages like toasties, breakfast, free bike, free drinks and Sam is nice person but the work is really exhausting, I never get used to it, people have to take a nap after the work. Also it was hard to have a good night there with a lot of noices and light in the basement. I felt like it was not worth it, I couldn't enjoy Rotterdam. Also the first day we had to take off the hair of all the showers, inside the tube, but this should be for a paid job. In general you feel like working harder than the workers :)

We’re glad you enjoyed the volunteer group and the extras, though sorry the work felt overly tiring. We try to be clear about the physical side but will reflect on your points. Although I consider myself open and socially active, I found it hard to truly connect with the place and the people. That said, I genuinely enjoyed my time in Rotterdam, mainly thanks to the friendships I built outside. The food provided is quite limited, so it's good to plan for extra expenses. The accommodation could also be improved, a proper the hostel would be more comfortable than a basement space with exposed pipes and a small window. Additionally, the proximity to the guest kitchen means you'll often notice the smell of food being prepared. Still, I'm thankful for the time spent there.

We also did our best to cater to your vegan diet, reaching out for feedback but receiving limited response. That said, we appreciate your input and will keep it in mind as we continue to improve. Unfortunately, I left after just 13 days. The experience was not what I had expected. The whole time, I felt there was a barrier between the volunteers and the staff. Maybe I arrived at a bad time, as they were short on volunteers, and the work was very exhausting. By the end of each shift, our energy was completely drained. A lot could be done to improve the experience for volunteers, starting with the meals—having just a toast every day is not really sufficient in the long run. So, be prepared to spend more than you might have expected.

Thank you for your review. We were disappointed by the way your placement ended—leaving without any notice caused real disruption and made it difficult to adjust the schedule.
Our volunteer team usually has a good relationship with staff, and we didn’t receive any communication from you about concerns during your time here. That lack of dialogue made it difficult to understand what went wrong.
We’re sorry things didn’t work out and hope future experiences are a better fit.

I had an amazing first time volunteering at this hostel! The atmosphere was so welcoming, and the team was fantastic to work with. The tasks were straightforward, and I enjoyed contributing while also having plenty of time to explore the area. The hostel itself was cozy and well-maintained, and the people I met made the experience even better. It was a great way to meet new friends, learn new skills, and have a memorable adventure. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a cool volunteering opportunity!

Wow, I had such an amazing time volunteering at Hostel the hostel! The staff were super welcoming and always happy to help or chat. The work was just as discussed, and with the hostel's location, exploring the city was so easy. I absolutely loved the atmosphere here, the fun themed nights were a blast, and I got to meet so many wonderful people, from staff to fellow volunteers and guests. I miss everyone already! Huge thanks to the whole team for an unforgettable experience!

I had a great time at Hostel the hostel! The staff were all so welcoming and kind and I made great friends with the other volunteers. The work was standard housekeeping: making beds, cleaning bathrooms and common areas. Working hours were respected and the work was not too hard. Volunteers sleep in a shared dorm at the hostel. There was limited privacy but we became friends fast! I would recommend Hostel the hostel! A nice, welcoming environment, plus you get breakfast, lunch and free drinks. The hostel is located in the city centre, so a great place to explore the city!

This hostel was my first Worldpackers experience and the vibe/energy there is very warm. Everyone was sooo inviting and friendly, so it is easy to make friends :)) The daily tasks are easy and simple — basically, you're cleaning the terrace, kitchen, bathrooms and rooms. Whenever you have any questions, they will always be answered! There are plenty of events you can participate in, which is super fun. :)) Overall, I had such a good time and I highly recommend this place!

This was an amazing experience, filled with welcoming people, fun adventures, and a safe environment that made me feel secure and comfortable. The hostel is lovely and the people here were so wonderful and I am grateful to have had this experience. I definitely recommend this to other who are seeking to learn and grow and have a great adventure!
