I applied to stay for one month but decided to stay for almost two, because I really love the house and I felt like it is hard to build a stronger connection with the kids in such a short time. I gave art clases and the kids really loved them. I was free to do whatever I want and to use all the materials so we could get really creative. I loved seeing the kids getting creative. Especially the kids that think they cannot really draw. If you plan your clases well you can make the kids really happy. The other days we helped them with their homework, which also is really important. I recommend

This is an absolutely wonderful project. The family who take you in our lovely, warm and kind. If you show them respect and kindness they will take you as one of their own. The work itself is incredibly rewarding and you get to help kids who really appreciate the work that you do. Iquitos is a really interesting city also. Would definitely recommend

Firstly, I want to say the family is incredible and super warm. They treat you like their own. I think I arrived at a strange time around Christmas so didn't get to work with the kids as much. I felt the organization its self can be a lot more organized and needs more employees to truly support the kids. I enjoyed my stay but also felt that with more organization or lesson planning and communication I could have been much more useful. Overall I am grateful for the experience. Thank you!

The family you stay with is the warmest and most welcoming! I really felt like a part of the family. Overall I had a great experience at casa ainbo. The kids are amazing and curious, even if there's a bit of a language barrier. So I would recommend knowing a little bit of Spanish. But there's many ways to help out, the most important thing is to have an open mind and bring a positive energy. Don't be afraid to ask questions! Generally in South America I've experienced that there's not always the best information flow, but be curious and ask is my best advice.

It's the best volunteer experience I've ever participated in. The welcome I received from the day I arrived was incredible! I learned so much from the people I met here, and I really enjoyed the activities! Interacting with the children and learning at Casa Ainbo was one of the most beautiful experiences. Thank you to Ericka and her entire family for being so warm and making me feel at home💖💖💖
