Imfundo Kahle

A non-profit educational partner organization dedicated to empowering vulnerable women and children through education.

The mission is to promote a more equitable society for women and children by contributing to the development of their skills through education and empowerment.

This is a great opportunity to get to know the local community, experience life in Peru and help the locals.

This volunteering is suitable for people who like to start something from scratch, lead a project and want to leave a profound impact.

Iquitos is a Peruvian port city and gateway to the jungle lodges and tribal villages of the northern Amazon. You can combine your stay with hiking, kayaking or exploring around with your host family. Iquitos has a vibrating community you are more than welcome to join local activities and festivals. You will be staying with a lovely local family in a neighbourhood in the city and you will be able to experience the Amazonian way of life.

Three intense but rewarding weeks! Working with children was beautiful and fulfilling, though sometimes exhausting:) I learned how each child is unique, with their own strengths and needs. The host family was very kind and made me feel welcome — living with many people meant little privacy but a great sense of community. I also improved my Spanish and got a real, authentic insight into local life. A wonderful and educational experience!

This is my second time with this particular exchange. There are many positive changes since the last one which was only a year ago but the one thing the greatest thing that has not changed is the love in which everyone is received by the host family. Getting to know the people of the home and community is the thing that will always keep me coming back. There are not enough words or characters to put down on paper so I can really only describe in a new way by saying-
Until we meet again! 🙏❤️

I can’t begin to talk about how amazing this family was to stay with, I speak little Spanish and they were so patient and kind with me, and truly made me feel safe and excepted. Even if there was a miscommunication it was greeted with love and understanding. Even if I don’t return with Worldpackers I would come back to visit and see how they are doing and visit. Everything they’re doing is a Godsend. Traveling to another country is a big decision in itself, and I couldn’t be happier that my first trip was with this family and Casa Ainbo and its students. I am dreading leaving on Saturday. <3
