The Experience

Hi! We are looking for help with out little Hotel and Hostel at the beautiful island of Öland in Sweden. Lots of stunning nature and beaches. we take turns serving breakfast and we will teach you how to do housekeeping. its a good skill to know how to clean a hotel room! Me Sofie & Henrik will be working and cooking with you and accationally have one or two beers together. if you want ofcourse! we have a dog and some chickens too.

The hosts were warm and welcoming. The tasks are mostly independent and unless there are other volunteers there you could spend a lot of time on your own; however some evenings were spent having nice dinner with the hosts. The majority of the work is cleaning which should be advertised more clearly, i did not spend much time doing other tasks which can be repetitive. The volunteer rooms were different to what was advertised as the images show guest rooms: i found it difficult to sleep with the animal/ bird noises from the chimney.

An amazing and quiet place to enjoy nature and the beautiful beaches surrounding the island. Sofie and Henrik are amazing hosts, who spend time with you, cook and let you get to know the local culture. The tasks are simple and you have enough time to get to know Lottorp, a beautiful island where you can connect with nature and cycle to many places.

The experience was amazing. I spent two months in Löttorp and Sofie and Henrik were very nice and welcoming. The tasks were not so hard to learn and, sometimes I've even spent free time with Sofie, Henrik and our mascotte Lily 🐻‍❄️🐻‍❄️. I recommend many volunteers this experience 'cause it's worth to live nature nearby and to have a previous experience if you want to work in hotels in the future.

Coming to the hostel & Hostel was one of the best decisions in my life! I felt welcomed by Sofie, Henrik and other volunteers the moment I got there. The work was not hard at all and could be done in less than 5 hours. We had the rest of the day off and could explore the island by bikes that were provided for us. If you love nature and everything that comes with it, you'll absolutely love it here! Thank you to Sofie and Henrik for being such amazing hosts <3

My experience in the hostel was fantastic and I absolutely recommend it!! I felt welcomed since the first moment thanks to Sofie and Henrik who are fantastic people to say the least and could not be more happy to have had this experience. Löttorp is a truly beautiful city with lots of places to discover surrounded by nature. The tasks are simple and even if you have no experience it is very easy to learn everything in a few days, also you always have plenty of free time available. Thanks again for the wonderful experience, for making me feel part of a family and teaching me so many things ♡
