ARA is a really wonderful place and I had a wonderful time. My stay was enriching in so many aspects, such as taking care of the dogs and cats, giving them a nicer place to live, receiving and spending love from the animals, spending time with them playing, cuddling and walking, learning how to behave and teach them (improving adoption chances), getting to know and live and work together with wonderful people of all ages and nationalities, and so on. I felt welcomed and respected by the amazing people working there, I had never concerns to ask questions (and I had a lot). I hope to return

My stays at ARA have always been positive, a sanctuary I'm thrilled to return to. Dedicated staff ensures that animals and volunteers are cared for, creating a warm atmosphere. Whether you stay in the house or the trailers there is a great sense of community within the volunteers. The accommodations are also clean and tidy. Socialising with the dogs will help them increasing their chances of getting adopted. ARA offers a great opportunity to make an impact on animals in need. This was my first worldpackers experience and I loved it! ARA is a unique place. Everything is so well organised and the staff is really kind and treats the animals with love. It was an amazing experience. For my ARA is like a little oasis in Portugal full of nature and similar minded people. The project is very well organised. The work was quite easy and I appreciated that we had enough time to socialize with the dogs and cats. I was only two weeks in ARA and it was so heartwarming to experience how in this short time some dogs got adopted. I definitely plan to come back one day!

ARA is an incredible place! I was already there two years ago and decided to come back, because I liked it so much. It's a great place for people who love to spend a lot of time with dogs. The tasks are mainly cleaning, walking the dogs and socialising with the dogs and cats :) The staff does an amazing job and the shelter is very organised. It's really inspiring to see everyone work together everyday to get the dogs and cats the life they deserve! The four weeks went by so fast and I was really sad to say goodbye to all the amazing dogs and people I met! I'll be back again for sure :)

My stay at ARA was an experience that I would recommend to anyone. The relationship with other volunteers and staff is very pleasant. For me, it's the best the shelter I've ever met. Our first experience couldn't have been more perfect. It was a dream come true to be part of this project. The staff are wonderful people who do everything they can to provide the best experience for you. The work is not difficult or complicated at all. The only bad part was having to say goodbye because you want to stay there forever.
