I have stayed at ARA 4 times already and each stay has been so amazing. The shelter grounds are very nice and there are lots of places for volunteers to hang out. The staff is super friendly and you will fall in love with all the dogs and cats. The work is very easy to do and I especially enjoyed all the walks and socializing of the dogs and cats. I would a hundred percent recommend ARA to anyone who is looking to work with animals and wants to meet other amazing volunteers with the same mindset.

ARA is a perfectly organized shelter, surrounded by gorgeous landscapes. The facilities were spacious and comfortable and the staff was always helpful with any questions/issues etc. I absolutely loved connecting with the staff members as well as with the other international volunteers. But most of all I enjoyed the endless time and opportunities we had with the shelter dogs and cats, with which I absolutely fell in love with while going on walks and small trips to the beach or even just cuddling with them. Thank you for the unforgettable experience, I can't wait to be back soon.

Great experience with a brilliant team behind the scenes. Very well organised and very reasonable hours. Accommodation is good with free water and laundry for all volunteers. All animals are very well looked after and cared for. I would highly recommend this experience to any the shelter lovers !!

Had a lovely time here, loved all the dogs and cats i got to know and met some great people. the tasks were simple and straight forward and the staff were very nice as well. I would definitely like to come back in the future, i really recommend volunteering here, especially if it's your first volunteer experience :)

Best place on earth! This was my third time at Ara and this place has become my second home in such a short time and I miss it incredibly much. I met so many great people and animals and would come back anytime! Everyone who likes animals is in good hands here and the work doesn't feel like work because it's so nice to see the animals opening up. I really hope that I can come back. It feels like you can really make a difference here :)

This place is an amazing place to volunteer at and I would definitely recommend! I've been here twice now and already wanting to visit a third. It's a sociable place where you meet so many travellers from across the world and create so many friendships :) The staff are so friendly and welcoming and the dogs are amazing! I loved volunteering at ARA. The staff and other volunteers were really nice. The work was not hard and was enjoyable. The accommodations were amazing , clean, and had everything you needed. I loved that you could spend so much time with the animals, and that you were allowed to take them to the beach with you. I absolutely recommend volunteering here. I wish I could have stayed longer.
