The Experience

Our philosophy is based on the idea that food can connect cultures and create encounters between people. That is why from the beginning in 2016 the project aims at being the bridge between Syrian refugees and permanent residents. Since 2019 we stopped calling those people refugees. Nowadays we focus on interculture encounters-without borders and with hearts- by running restaurants and food trucks where food and culture compliment each other.

Münster is a lively international university city.they provide you a paper with all the activites and advice for havingfun:pub, club restaurant, events.all the terms agreed were respected, even better because you work 22,30 instead of 25 h.the job was easy and light.shifts are weekly and coulb be changed.the flat is near the city center and 10 min far from work by bike.the project has a set menu so after a while coulb be boring eating there and all the bikes had some kind of problems:seat, breaks, pedals, light. But I had a lot of fun, everyday there's a different event, you'll never get bored!5/5!

It was very nice stay of 6 weeks. They offered lots of opportunities to stay in Münster with different experiences. I would love to join again and recommend to others. Thank you Elbēn! :)

This was my very first experience as a volunteer, and I'm so happy I made such a great choice to start with Worldpackers. Nadal and his team gave me all the support I needed and made me feel completely at home – that was truly amazing! The tasks were not difficult, and the team was super fun to be around. I'm deeply grateful to Nadal and the whole team for the time I spent there, for their kindness, and for their humanity. I really hope to come back and be with you all again soon!

I had a great experience at Elbēn! <3 Both the people at work and the friends you find living in the WG are both friendly and welcoming. Münster in general is a very young and international city so it was easy to get in touch with new people overall. Wonderful chance to learn more about different cultures - not just the german one. The city felt safe and had a lot of cool stuff going on. The work was fun and the working hours were respected. A bit stressful sometimes but still manageable. Really sweet colleagues. Forever grateful for this experience and I hope to be back soon again !!

I joined this volunteer experience with a friend in August. Firstly, the work at the restaurant was simple and easy to learn. However, if your goal is to improve English, keep in mind that most the team spoke Arabic or German. The accommodation was not in the best condition when we arrived. It wasn't very clean and we had to figure out some things by ourselves since there wasn't much explanation from the beginning. However, they were flexible with the schedule, which allowed us to travel around the country. In general, it was a great experience and I recommend it!!
